Surviving Bee Gees Reunite for Charity

Recommended Posts

beegees.jpgLOS ANGELES - Barry and Robin Gibb, two-thirds of the Bee Gees, reunited on stage for a Miami charity concert, their first performance since the death of brother Maurice three years ago.

The Gibb brothers performed a private concert Saturday night at the Diplomat Hotel to raise money for the Diabetes Research Institute at an annual benefit for the organization, Paul Bloch, Barry Gibb's publicist, said Sunday.

The brothers performed dozens of Bee Gees hits spanning 35 years, including "Stayin' Alive," "Massachusetts," "How Deep is Your Love" and what Bloch called a stunning tribute to Maurice with the song "Don't Forget to Remember."

They sure sold a lot of records. I liked them from way back in the 60's. Koop was prolly too old to enjoy their music then but his grandkids prolly liked them in the 60's as well.

Wrong again, Cheneydung, I was a big fan of the GeeBees...err....BeeGees. I recall buying two of their albums with money from my first paycheck working at a grocery store. I made a whopping $1.25 per hour in 1968...the same rate Republicans would like to see as minimum wage today.

You were overpaid.

I had a summer job making $1.15 at a peach packing operation that year. Next summer I got a job mowing grass at a golf course for $1.60. Mowing grass all summer and clearing weeds on a golf course located 50 miles from Atlanta situated in the swamps. Chiggers, mosquitoes, snakes.....damn I miss that job.

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
