Appropriately packaged in leather and studs, a four-disc Judas Priest box set will be released May 4 by Sony Music/Legacy Records. Dubbed "Metalogy," the collection gathers 65 tracks of hits, favorites, B-sides and rarities recorded by the veteran heavy metal act between 1972 and 2002.

Initial pressings of "Metalogy" will also include a bonus DVD of a Dec. 12, 1982, concert in Memphis during the band's Screaming for Vengeance tour. Previously released on VHS as "Judas Priest Live," the concert film has been out of print for some time, and is here reissued in 5.1 surround sound.

A new studio album is expected sometime this year, as is a tour in celebration of Judas Priest's 30th anniversary. The band is confirmed to play several European festivals in June, according to the official Judas Priest Web site.

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
