This site hosts every one of the CBC's Heritage Minutes, produced on the government's dime.

I believe the purpose of making them was to bring alive interest in Canadian History again, but they also have the added effect of explaining some of the Canadian world view.

I used to have a satellite dish from 1983-1998, and I used to watch a lot of stuff on CBC. (I recorded the Joe Cocker Mad Dogs & Englishmen movie there about 15 years ago....haven't seen it anywhere since). But CBC used to run a lot of geographical and environmental minute programs that I really enjoyed.
