Urban Network presents Diva, at Axis on 13th May, launching a series of monthly events featuring chic foreign vocalists and soulful uplifting house DJs.

Kathy Brown, first guest on the night now stands proud as one of house music's true Divas. The lady, started out in the music industry in much the same way as many of her own lady heroines; Patty La Belle, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston and Martha Wash.

Her style has evolved through the years from soulful RnB to the more RnB house flavoured direction and is often compared to Whitney and Aretha; always chic, always smooth, yet with an underlying hard edge for the full effect.

Kathy Brown has enjoyed success with tracks such as: "Make me feel like singing" on AM:PM records, "Happy People" on Blaze productions, "Joy" with David Morales on Azuli, worked on Chanta Moore's track "I'll never find another love" and co-wrote Gloria Gaynor's "Got to be forever."

She has also worked with Kenny Dope Gonzales, Little Louie Vega and Cevin Fisher and was responsible for the vocals on three Defected tracks. Performed also with Danny Rampling, Antoine Clamaran, Cream Ibiza, Hed Kandi, Seamus Haji, Major Boys, Una Mas, Ministry of Sound sessions and the latest with Soul Central -- Strings of Life (stronger on my own)

Please don't hesitate to send your feedback and comments on [email protected]

DJs on the night include: Miss Roberta, Steve Caesar, Conrad Heal, Duncan F, Carlito and Tony Toni. Hosted by MC Treble (UK).

This event is sponsored by Liaise Entertainment London, Photo Classic, Bay Radio, Limousine services.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
