Ex-Turtles Guitarist Jailed for Nev. DUI

turtles.jpgAl Nichol, former lead guitarist for The Turtles, has been sentenced to six months in jail for drunken driving while on probation for a previous DUI conviction.

Nichol's blood-alcohol level was 0.311 at the time of his May 2004 arrest, well above Nevada's legal limit of 0.08, according to court documents.

Nichol, 58, also showed up drunk for a Jan. 12 court hearing. Tests showed he had a 0.19 blood-alcohol level.

He is consistant. Maybe he should try the Sherry Enema. :)

I'm surprised nobody is suggesting using that as a lethal injection for executions.

oh well...at least the survivors of the turtles, Mark Volman & Howard Kaylan, went on to make decent music as The Phlorescent Leech And Eddie and also did some good stuff with frank zappa.......

      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
