  1. Kevin Spacey has settled with one of his many accusers. The actor's career took a disastrous turn after several sexual allegations became public. He was immediately removed from House of Cards, which was Netflix's first original series. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the anonymous sexual assault lawsuit against Kevin Spacey is over, according to papers filed in federal court Monday. The plaintiff, who refused to be identified and was suing as a "John Doe," claimed that he was forced to grab the actor's genitals twice during a massage at a private residence in Malibu. Spacey tried to get the case shut down since the accuser was anonymous, but a judge allowed the case to move forward. But, then "John Doe" died, and Spacey's attorneys filed a notice of death in court. This gave the accuser's estate a 90-day period to be substituted into the case. Attorneys for Spacey filed a stipulation to dismiss the case with prejudice (which means claims can't be refiled). This led to the reported settlement, but no terms of the deal were made public. In more Spacey news, another one of his accusers, the Norwegian author Ari Behn, died by suicide. It is unfortunate that Spacey's accusers won't get their day in court. View the full article
  2. In celebration of the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog film, Adidas and Damian Lillard have created a special edition "Chasing Rings" colorway of his latest signature shoe - the Adidas Dame 6. The Sonic-inspired sneakers come equipped with a split design, featuring blue on the outer half as a tribute to the main character, while a red inner half serves as a nod to Knuckles the Echidna. The kicks are also highlighted by the ultra lightweight Lightstrike cushioning, which makes its appearance in Dame's signature series for the first time. Per Adidas: “The silhouette embodies Dame’s multi-dimensional persona from both sides of the shoe. The outside speaks to Dame’s focus, while the interior peels back the layers to showcase the inner workings of the shoe and celebrates Dame’s ruthless mindset on the court.” Adidas has not yet announced release details but it is believed that the Dame 6 "Chasing Rings" will be available sometime around February 14, when the Sonic The Hedgehog film hits theaters. Take a look at some additional photos in the IG post embedded below while we await the official announcement. View the full article
  3. The New Orleans Pelicans will get some much-needed help next month, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania. “I’m told both sides are hopeful of a January season debut for (Zion) Williamson," he stated on Tuesday, giving Pelican fans some hope going into the New Year. Williamson suffered a torn meniscus in October. After surgery, his initial recovery time was slated at 6 to 8 weeks. Although that would have had him back in the game already, the Pelicans are reluctant to start the number one draft pick. Reportedly, the team has been working on the young athlete's kinetic chain to reduce the chances of him re-injuring his knee in the future. The Pelicans are currently 11-23, making them the second to last team in the Western Conference. Only the Golden State Warriors have a worse record, which is pretty astonishing within itself. It may be smarter for the team to sit Williamson for the rest of the season, get a nice draft pick, and start off the next season strong. That may not be what Pelicans fans want, but it may be better for the franchise overall. In the preseason before his injury, Williamson was averaging 23.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.5 steals. He was also shooting just over 71 percent across four exhibition games. 5. When Le'Veon Bell signed with the New York Jets prior to the season, fans felt as though it was exactly what the team needed. Bell is one of the best dual-threat running backs in the entire NFL and any team would be excited to have him. Unfortunately, the team's offensive line was fairly pedestrian and wouldn't allow him to thrive. During the team's final press conference of the year, head coach Adam Gase was fairly dismissive of Bell and didn't appear to want him back. According to Brian Costello of The New York Post, Jets General Manager Joe Douglas isn't promising anything and says they are "going to listen" to any offers thrown their way. Douglas wasn't the GM that signed Bell so it's clear that he doesn't have very much sentimental attachment to his running back. Scott Taetsch/Getty Images If Bell were to be traded, there would be a ton of teams looking for his services. Bell is a talent that is hard to find which means teams will be lining up to get him. Meanwhile, the Jets can always decide to keep him although his relationship with his head coach might be beyond repair, at this point. Stay tuned for updates on this situation as we will be sure to bring them to you. View the full article
  6. Ice-T is facing backlash online after sharing a meme from a Pro-Donald Trump conspiracy theory page. On Monday (December 30), the rapper/actor shared a tweet of an image of a fiery "Q "letter and a quote that reads, “Never Interfere With an Enemy While He’s in the Process of Destroying Himself.” The quote is timeless, and has been around for possibly hundreds of years. That wasn't what upset his fans though, it was the letter "Q" that got the Twitter fingers going. The "Q" stands for QAnon, which is a far-right conspiracy group that believes government forces have conspired against Donald Trump. Fans began to tweet confused or angry messages to Ice-T as soon as he shared the tweet. "Hey ice t why did you just post a picture from the Qanon conspiracy. do you believe it?," one user asked. Ice-T replied, "I have no idea what that is... I just liked the quote." Ice-T hit back to a flurry of angry tweets with "ATTENTION: If I post or say something YOU don’t like.. PLEASE unfollow.." That gained a response from one user of, "It's not about someone liking something or not. It's the fact that you (accidentally?) spread a QAnon conspiracy theory meme. Your celebrity status and blue check validates it regardless of how you feel about. It's not about hating." Ice-T responded, "EAT A DICK..." Although he was adamant about not deleting the original meme at first, Ice-T apparently took it down after being hounded online. Check out the back and forth below. (Source) View the full article
  7. Are you having difficulty keeping up will all the women who have entered allegations that Future is the father of their baby? Don't worry, the majority of us are. In the past, Wendy Williams even created a whole damn chart to discuss what Joie Chavis, Ciara, Eliza Seraphin, and others were up to. Despite his iconic status as an Atlanta musician, Future Hendrix always gets clowned online for the struggles in his personal life. His toxic nature serves as fuel for his music but in real life, it hasn't done him any favors. With a handful of women trying to get child support money from him, the rapper has a large monthly bill and Cindy Parker is the latest name on his growing list. In recent months, the legal battle between Future and Cindy Parker, a Texas-based woman, has heated up and just this week, the recording artist apparently requested a gag order in their paternity case. It's unclear whether or not the judge will grant Pluto's wishes but, until then, Parker is happy sharing photos of her alleged son with the star. Giving birth in the summer, Parker shared an adorable picture of Legend Wilburn, one of Future's alleged kids. The two share some facial features but based on looks alone, it's not easy to determine whether Future is actually his father. "My greatest blessing of 2019," wrote Parker as her caption. "I couldn’t imagine life without you. God blessed me when he sent you. I’ll always ride for you forever & ever." Take a look at baby Legend below. [via] View the full article
  8. Parents approaching celebrities on behalf of their children always results in some hilarious and embarrassing scenarios. A video circulating of an encounter between a mother and Zendaya proves this. An excited mom recognized Zendaya in a restaurant in Oakland, CA and asked to record a video for her son, who is supposedly a big Zendaya fan. "Hi Jordan! Guess who it is?!" exclaimed the mom, as her and Zendaya's faces filmed the frame of the front camera. Turns out it was the mom who ended up guessing who it was, but guessed wrongly. "Your girl from the show, 13 Reasons!" the mom conjectured, referring to Netflix's 13 Reasons Why. Zendaya quickly pointed out that she's from another teen drama TV series. "Oh, I'm not on that show... I'm on Euphoria, darling," she graciously explained to the older woman. Zendaya gets a good laugh out of the mix-up, while the mistaken mama turns the camera and says, "I'm sorry, I said the wrong show!" It's hard to believe someone could not know who Zendaya is in 2019 when she's one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, but we all make mistakes. The son shared the video that him "weak" on Twitter and it has since gone viral. Watch Post Malone get approached by a mom who claims her daughter wants to marry him. View the full article
  9. You don't have to like Russ but you should respect him. The man loves to remind us that he does everything himself from mixing, producing, rapping, singing, composing, arranging, designing, and everything in between. He's been an easy target for rap fans after some of the comments he's made about drug use and the industry as a whole, but on the low, he continues to boast an organic fanbase made up of millions of supporters around the world. Russ can spin the globe, choose a random country, and sell out their largest arena. That's the stage he's reached but, at the beginning of the decade, nobody was checking for him. He posted a direct juxtaposition of his shows back then and his performances now, pointing out the stark contrast in audience size. Taylor Hill/Getty Images When Russ first started getting serious as a performer, there was almost nobody in the crowd at his shows. As he learned the ins and outs of the business, he started to attract more and more fans though, eventually ending up where he is today. Celebrating the end of the decade, Russ posted a comparison of what things used to be like and how they are now. "Beginning of the decade...end of the decade. What a journey it’s been," he wrote. "Considering where this next decade is starting at, I’m excited. thanks for all the support. 2020 and beyond OTW!!" Are you planning on hitting a Russ show in the new year? View the full article
  10. There was a time when many people thought Robert Griffin III could be the biggest name in football. The quarterback had an exceptional skill set that included both running and passing. He was carrying the torch left by Michael Vick and in his rookie season, he was phenomenal. From there, things began to worse for Griffin as injuries derailed his career. The Washington Redskins took bad care of him and in the end, it hurt his career. Now, Griffin has had a bit of a resurgence as the backup quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens. This past Sunday, Griffin was given a chance to start and lead his team to their best record in team history while keeping their winning streak alive heading into the playoffs. Griffin and company defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers, 28-10 which propelled them to a 14-2 record. Following the game, Griffin spoke about what made the performance so special. As he explains in the clip above, the win was special because it allowed him to carry the team's momentum forward. Has the Ravens lost, they would have gone into the playoffs on a low note which is something you never want to do, especially as the number one seed. Griffin is hoping he can find an NFL home after this season and this was a test for him to show teams he can start. While his passing stats weren't impressive, Griffin was still able to run for 50 yards on 8 carries which is pretty good considering it was his first start all year. Needless to say, this was a great first step for Griffin moving forward. View the full article
  11. Joker has become the most successful Rated R movie of all time, and the fans are ready for a sequel. When the film was constructed, director Todd Phillips did not envision a sequel, but a billion-dollar box office hit may have changed his mind a little. While speaking at Deadline’s recent The Contenders New York award-season event, Phillips was asked a number of questions about the film. At one point, he was asked whether he thought Joker's origins in the DC universe as Batman’s enemy had anything to do with the box office success. Phillips doesn't think so. “I think it was more than that,” he said. “I mean, I think there are themes in the movie that really resonated with people. None of us thought an R-rated movie could do over $1 billion across the world. But I think the themes in it really resonated. The thing Scott Silver and I set out to do when we wrote the movie together was to make something meaningful in that comic book space, but also something really that addressed what was going on in 2016, when we started writing. It’s pretty obvious what was happening in our country in 2017 while we were writing it, and really wanted to use Joker to make a movie about the loss of compassion and the lack of decorum in the world." Phillips was also asked about a potential sequel, to which he laughed. “When a movie does $1 billion and cost $60 million to make, of course it comes up,” he admitted while grinning. “But Joaquin and I haven’t really decided on it. We’re open. I mean, I’d love to work with him on anything, quite frankly. So who knows? But it would have to have a real thematic resonance the way this one did, ultimately being about childhood trauma and the lack of love, and the loss of empathy. All those things are really what made this movie work for us, so we’d have to have something that had an equal thematic resonance.” Check out the entire interview here. View the full article
  12. When it was announced that Joseline Hernandez would be returning to the Love & Hip Hop: Miami franchise next season, fans of the show went absolutely bonkers. The Puerto Rican Princess had been absent from the last batch of episodes and people really wanted to keep up with her updates. Now that the super trailer has been released for Season 3, people are still wondering what Joseline's role on the show will be, especially after she was only included in a few seconds of the six-minute-long teaser. Paras Griffin/Getty Images Showing the world what we can expect from the third season of LHHMIA, VH1 opted to leave Joseline Hernandez' contributions a secret for the most part. She appears at the end of the trailer, laughing that she's about to take over but, for the most part, the drama in the upcoming episodes appears to center on Trina and Amara La Negra. Trina is mourning the loss of her mother and she's also apparently urging Amara La Negra to find herself a new manager to further her career, claiming that her existing manager stole over $300K from her. The new season will also explore Trick Daddy's new relationship with a much younger woman, Sukihana's mission to become a full-fledged rap star, Brisco's return to music following his prison release, and more. 13. Shock value is an old friend of Janelle Monae's. The star actress/singer knows how to rile up the masses, trying out new looks and debuting them on red carpets for us all to 'ooh' and 'aah' over. Just the other day, she shared that she had dyed her underarm hair pink, which was a decision many questioned. Monae's fans ultimately praised her for making such a choice, commenting on the picture in droves to remark how brave she is to continually defy the standards set forth by a patriarchal society. In an equally-risky display, the award winner shed herself of her clothes and flaunted her natural body, covering up her chest with her hands and posing in a sea of roses for a beautiful new picture. Posting over a dozen new shots to her social media profiles, Janelle Monae stood out in one particular photo, standing behind a garden of red roses as she protected her modesty by placing both hands over her breasts. Monae has been showing off some of her favorite looks from the decade but, as you would expect, people are gravitating toward the skin-filled pic. How do you feel about Janelle Monae? Do you think she'll keep on achieving new heights in the 2020s? View the full article
  14. They say "Black don't crack," and Jada Pinkett Smith is a testament to that old mantra. Although Jada's acting career took off in the early 90s, it barely looks like she has aged even a day. The Red Table Talk host took to her Instagram to post a picture of herself with a new hairdo. The mogul posted up in platinum blonde box braids, with her original roots still in place. We're not sure if this is a recent picture or one of her from the Fall when she wore a similar look as she stopped by Sirius XM to be on Jessica Shaw’s show. While there, she rocked her braids half up and half down. Either way, Jada looks stunning with the platinum braids that are slightly untwined at the ends. Jada's skin looks immaculate in the picture, and it's hard to believe that she is 48 years old. Glowing and fierce, she captioned the new Instagram post with “You are your soulmate and someone can join in on that fun.” Jada and her husband Will Smith have taken over the social media game in the last two years, becoming somewhat of an inspiration power couple that everyone looks up to. What do you guys think of the platinum box braids? View the full article

  16. Lizzo has been at the hands of some serious backlash ever since she attended a Lakers game and flashed her ass when the jumbotron showed her some love. The "Truth Hurts" singer defended her outfit of choice afterwards but it hasn't stopped her from pulling in negative remarks about her frame from trolls on the Internet. More recently, Lizzo defended her name once again when someone had the audacity to call her "the fat Cardi B" and said she's famous due to an "obesity epidemic in America." Monica Schipper/Getty Images "I’m popular because I write good songs and I’m talented and perform high energy hour and a half shows filled with love. The only person who needs to do better is you. Keep my name out ya mouth & look in the mirror before you come for me," she responded. While Lizzo's clap back was sure and strong her hot uploads to Instagram that sees her rocking Rihanna's Savage x Fenty robe also works too. Lizzo uploaded a series of posts to her Instagram story of her wearing Rihanna's lingerie line, looking fly as ever. “She is everything that Savage stands for,” Rihanna once said of Lizzo. “A confident woman, no matter what size, color, shape. Your attitude is what makes you savage. It’s the confidence that you have in yourself and it’s the confidence that you can give off to people who look like you and feel like you and those are the people that identify with the brand.” View the full article

  18. Offset is, apparently, not new to being sued. He's faced plenty of lawsuits over the past two years alone and now, he has another to add onto the pile. According to TMZ, the rapper has an outstanding balance with Peter Marco of Extraordinary Jewels Beverly Hills and the jeweler is now taking Offset to court over it. Apparently, Offset's owed Marco nearly $50K since October 2018 after picking up a new piece. The invoice stated that Offset cleared off $63K of the $110K that he owed from the transaction. Marco revealed that he had already reached out to Offset in early December through a letter sent by the jeweler's lawyer demanding for the remainder of the balance. The letter demanded that the rest of the invoice is paid within the next seven days otherwise legal action will be taken. Marco is now seeking to get the full amount in addition to attorney fees and interest. Additionally, Quality Control Music's COO Coach K is also listed in the lawsuit for whatever reason. It's an unfortunate way to end the year but it doesn't seem like Offset would have any trouble actually paying off the invoice especially since he and Cardi B just scooped up their dream mansion on Christmas Eve. Not Offset or Coach K has made any statements regarding the lawsuit. View the full article
  19. Griselda surely made their name known in 2019. They released albums and mixtapes at high volumes without compromising their own artistry. I mean, they did have the backing of Shady but 2019 also included members of Griselda signing a management deal with the other GOAT of this rap sh*t, Jay-Z. To cap off the year, RapRadar released their new interview -- and final one of the decade -- with Griselda where they definitely didn't hold out. On the topic of getting their rightful dues, Westside Gunn made a compelling argument as to why Griselda should be mentioned along the TDE's and Dreamville's of this rap game. "All of this in one year," Westside Gunn said after listing off a slew of projects he, Benny and Conway dropped this year. "And we not mentioned in this one year and we not mentioned as the top group. Like, you're still going to mention TDE, you're going to mention Dreamville. Dreamville or TDE didn't do it." Conway did interject briefly, stating, "Them n***as is incredible... I love them n***as." "They incredible but they didn't do it," Westside Gunn continued. "That's the Buffalo sh*t I was talking 'bout," he added in reference to whether the perception of the group would've been different if they weren't from Upstate New York. "If you're going to say TDE was a powerhouse of '19, but where is ScHoolboy and Kendrick and Ab's and everybody's projects? That consistently had to do it every other month and haven't slacked one bar." Peep the full interview below. View the full article
  20. It’s hard to know what to expect from a record label’s compilation project, especially when the label is still in its nascent stages. Cactus Jack Records is far from fully-fledged. Many may even struggle to name the artists that belong to it. Perhaps that could be the purpose of one of these projects: to introduce the roster. Other times, the collective has already proven its potential, but comes together to claim or reassert dominance over the game. JACKBOYS aims to both present its members and convince the world that they are on top - an ambitious endeavour that may also be the only acceptable way to make an entrance in hip hop. In 2017, Travis Scott launched Cactus Jack Records, his own imprint on Epic Records. The following year, he signed his first artist, Harlem rapper Sheck Wes. Wes was already buzzing off “Mo Bamba” and he cashed in on that buzz by delivering his debut, MUDBOY, at just the right moment. Despite his album being well-received, he became a peripheral character in 2019. The diversion of his trajectory may have had much to do with his ex-girlfriend and recording artist, Justine Skye, publicly accusing him of abuse in February. Cactus Jack’s second signee came later in the year. The signing of Don Toliver didn’t become public knowledge through an official announcement, but was a contingent discovery upon first hearing Travis Scott’s ASTROWORLD. As you tried to compile your one-listen review of the album, you took note of the slew of uncredited features. While you were capable of discerning vocals from Drake and Frank Ocean and 21 Savage, one voice remained unidentifiable, yet incredibly captivating. Your intrigue drove you to do research into the matter… or you just consulted your Twitter feed and saw a bunch of people talking about some guy named Don Toliver. He was the mysterious Houston artist with the standout verse on “CAN’T SAY”, with the nasally tone and soaring warbles. Whoever this was, Travis struck gold. Toliver dropped his debut mixtape, Donny Womack, a day before ASTROWORLD, so for all those craving more of him after hearing “CAN’T SAY”, they had somewhere to turn. While this was surely an ingenious strategy, a Don Toliver takeover didn’t follow. JACKBOYS, the first compilation project from Cactus Jack Records, can be seen as Travis’ mentees auditioning for lead roles in 2020. The competition becomes all-the-more heated when the outside guests who are brought in have already secured spots at the table. The EP opens with a remix of Travis’ “Highest In The Room”, his highly-anticipated single that shot to No. 1 in October. We finally receive the leaked verse from the ever-consistent Lil Baby and an additional treat from the future of pop, Rosalía. There is a sublime moment when Travis and the Spanish singer’s breathy vocals intertwine in the first verse, but the choice to commence JACKBOYS with features from two non-CJR artists is an odd one. Turns out that song wasn’t the opening, though. It was a trailer that preceded the main event. This program is communicated by “Highest In The Room (Remix)” being followed by the cleansing instrumental “INTRO” that trickles into “GANG GANG”. Off the bat, “GANG GANG” seems like a concept that is far past its expiration date, yet the song proves at several points that it’s worth your time. The beat from VOU and WondaGurl is a slow burn that leaves plenty of room for the artists to approach it as they wish and leads to a diversity in performances. Sheck Wes tries on a disaffected drawl. Don Toliver counters him by bursting with colorful character. Travis provides neither a verse, chorus or bridge, but he’s omnipresent. His ad-libs and haunting croons swirl around the track like a watchful father. Luxury Tax 50 fulfills the same role of the secret, show-stealing verse that Don Toliver did on “CAN’T SAY”. Not much is known about the Inglewood rapper other than that Travis has hinted at signing him and he left a memorable mark on JACKBOYS. “HAD ENOUGH” is Don Toliver’s time to shine. He’s at home over the soulful sample in the chorus, belting out melodies that make perfect sense of why he has a mixtape named after Bobby Womack. He shows how swiftly he can translate his singing to rapping when the beat morphs into a trap template. Quavo and Offset contribute solid performances, but most importantly, their presences confirm that Toliver can thrive when surrounded by heavy-hitters. “WHAT TO DO?”, on the other hand, isn’t about him thriving. It’s about how well he and Travis complement each other. On this dramatic duet, they both effusively sing about being really fucked up. It’s the kind of grandiose ode to banal circumstances that Travis has made his trademark. With Mike Dean at the helm, these drug rap symphonies become spectacular and psychedelic. The theatrics of “WHAT TO DO?” reach a peak with the synth breakdown, washed-out guitar solo and, of course, strings. The project is capped off with “GATTI”, whose explosive energy would have made it more suitably placed after “INTRO”. If Pop Smoke - who is not signed to Cactus Jack Records - weren’t the one busting out the gates on “GATTI”, it probably would have been placed there. He commands the track for almost all of its first two minutes. It’s hard not to draw a parallel between Pop Smoke and Sheck Wes. Pop Smoke, who hails from Brooklyn, had a massive hit that steamed off the streets this summer, “Welcome To The Party”. In 2018, Sheck Wes had “Mo Mamba”. They’re both raucous tracks that inaugurated artists prepared to shake up the scene. While the futures of both their careers remain open, Pop Smoke certainly made a bigger bang on JACKBOYS. So, what do we take away from JACKBOYS? Travis Scott has a grand vision, big enough to host other artists to play around in it and produce some great music. Since JACKBOYS possesses similar sonic motifs as Travis’ solo work and he is pretty much everywhere on this EP, it can feel like a Travis project with a load of features (not too different from ASTROWORLD). Whether Travis intended to come across as the captain of a ship or a nurturer of new talent is up to interpretation. JACKBOYS is another wild ride curated by Travis, a man with a relentless thirst for maximum thrill. What remains to be determined is whether the artists he’s placing in the passenger seats are bold enough to grab the wheel and keep us just as enraptured as he has. View the full article

  22. Travis Scott is wrapping up 2019 by getting some things off his chest and he linked with XXL to write his own cover story and share some thoughts on his lovely daughter Stormi, the state of hip hop and his latest project, JACKBOYS. The seven track offering that Travis released to his fans is described as "a body of work made with a few of my friends and people I’ve always made music with since day one." Joshua Blanchard/Getty Images Artists such as Sheck Wes, Don Toliver and Pop Smoke are featured to wake "up the minds of people that might not know." Elsewhere in the feature, Travis got candid about the hip hop community and how he wished it was less back-and-forth and more genuine collaboration. “It would be so much cooler if the hip-hop community could be more together and not so divided. It can be very divided. Competition plays a role but it’s cool that there’s competition. Everyone is obviously winning, but it would be so cool if rap didn’t have so much back-and-forth and it was more about us coming to an understanding on some things and there was more camaraderie," he said. "We are all in this together. It’s us versus those who don’t get it. So, if we showed and felt that more, it would be different.” As for his daughter Stomri, Travis called his daughter his best friend. "She makes life a little bit easier. She just inspires me and she surprises me every day with how she’s thinking. It’s so crazy. Her mom and I came up with the name Stormi together. I love her mommy and I always will. The hard part about relationships is just trying to be in one without a million outside voices interfering.” Read in full here. View the full article
  23. When it was reported that Lil Wayne was the passenger of a private jet being searched by the feds last week, everybody was scared to see what would come next. It took a while before any updates hit the internet, with Weezy F Baby leading the charge, telling all his fans that he's safe and sound and no longer in police custody. Several updates have hit the web since then, with one report noting that drugs and guns were found on board the plane. A new story by the Miami Herald notes that, in Wayne's personal bag, a gold-plated gun and hard drugs were found, making this situation even more complicated and potentially leading to future charges for the rapper. Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images In the latest update shared by the Miami Herald, Lil Wayne is said to have been carrying a gold-plated gun with a pearl grip in his Coach handbag. The firearm was somewhere next to the drugs, including molly, weed, cocaine, and heroin, in the bag. Another interesting find from the haul was a number of vape cartridges with photos of Wayne's face on them. Hopefully, this doesn't lead to anything serious for Tunechi. It's been a rough go for him legally as of late, being met with prison searches at nearly every festival appearance he makes. This was the scariest one so far. 24. The family of Damon Grimes, the 15-year-old who died after a Michigan state trooper tased him, has won a $12 million settlement in their wrongful death lawsuit against the Michigan State Police. The settlement is the largest that the Michigan State Police Department has ever paid for a single incident, claims a lawyer of the family's, Geoffrey Fieger. The family will receive $7.8 million of the $12 million, nearly $4 million of which will be put toward legal costs. "We hope this kind of money will act as a deterrent," said Fieger, "but unfortunately it rarely does." The tragedy occurred in August of 2017 when police spotted Damon riding an ATV around a residential area of Detroit in August of 2017. The officers followed Damon in their patrol car and asked him to pull over. When he didn't immediately comply, officer Mark Bessner shot him with a taser out of the passenger side of the car. Damon crashed the ATV into the back of a parked truck as a reaction to the tasing, and died shortly after on August 26th. The Michigan State Police found that Officer Bessner "undisputedly acted outside of MSP policy and training" by shooting his taser at Damon, and he was suspended. Bessner, who did eventually retire, was criminally charged with Damon's death, though in 2018, the first trial concluded with a hung jury. However, Bessner was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2019, and received a sentence of 5 to 15 years in prison. View the full article
  25. D Smoke, the man who came out on top of Netflix's Rhythm + Flow competition series, is back again to show love to his EP Inglewood High that dropped in October. The seven-track offering showcased the sounds and cadence that gave him the winning spot in the series, giving him even more of an opportunity to launch a successful musical career. Just last week we posted about D Smoke's "Lil' Red" music video and today he's dropped off the official video for "Honey Jack." The video begins with D Smoke getting some words of wisdom from a woman at a bus stop before he heads to his job as a waiter at a popular supper club. The video resembles the 1920s and sees D Smoke live out his dream of getting on stage and performing. “It takes you on a brief journey,” D Smoke said of his project. “It’ll lead with coming up in Inglewood, going back to Inglewood. Then telling the stories of some of my students. When I talk about the street as in Inglewood, it’s really me as a teacher looking at my students and telling their misguided stories. But that’s a project I’m really proud of and I can’t wait to see how people respond to it.” Watch in full above. View the full article
