  1. "Blockhead has a solid background in underground hip hop, having produced much of the material on Aesop Rock’s Def Jux albums. There are a very few producers working in hip hop or its related disciplines who can take a tune and keep developing it over the space of a song, let alone distill so much emotion into every note, making it melancholy and strangely uplifting all at the same time.

  2. ....there going to be an international version fo pop idol....I feel sorry for these "winners" because making it in this business is a life sdream for some and yet they are chewed and then spat out, most having a shelf life of a year or 2 albums. Lets not forget the British boyband v girlband series where the boyband manager left them to produce there own single and do there promotion..basically he left the band to there own devices after the program finshed..

  3. I just tried to think of the most important artsits of the genre, eventho i forgot portishead. BUt i agree with your method therre is way to many decent electronica artists. I put sneaker pimps in the list because they played an inportant role in making this genre more popular, even if this is a good or bad thing..?!

DudeAsInCool try and get some of the albums from the list above, my recommendations are:-

boards of canada - music has the right to children

coldcut - journeys by a dj- 70 minutes of madness

    UNKLE - pysence fiction

    Dj shadow - entroducing

akotcha - sound burger (my personal favourite atm)

quantic - the fift exotic (all time favourite)

  4. well i suppose

electronica - dance, house, dnb, trip hop

rock - death metal, indie rock

    urban - hip hop, rnb

    oldies - ..old stuff!

    jazz

    reggae - dub, classic..

I think some genres will have there own genre without sub genres like pop/top 40 stuff...i dunno maybe im taking it to far..

  5. DudeAsInCool, have you listened to this one? If so whats are rating on it?

I just been listening to the first tracks off the spankmaster album and its ...well its kinda more blander lyrics but more hard hitting slighty/ techno style beats....simple beats tho.

  6. nice article man, i fucking love kool keith for basically the same reasons why everyone else does..Its kinda strange to read the kinda music he likes and then listening to one of his albums its like...were the fuck did he get his inspiration from, you know. I cant wait to listen to some of his new stuff, eventho its not going to be more rap orientated like the dr dooom album.
