The Druggist
Upon arriving home, a husband was met at the door by his sobbing wife. Tearfully she explained, "It's the pharmacist. He insulted me terribly this morning on the phone."Immediately, the husband drove downtown to confront the druggist and demand an apology.
Before he could say more than a word or two, the druggist told him, "Now, just a minute, listen to my side of the story. This morning the alarm failed to go off, so I was late getting up. I went without breakfast and hurried out to the car, only to realize that I locked the house with both house and car keys inside.
"I had to break a window to get my keys. Then, driving a little too fast, I got a speeding ticket. When I was about three blocks from the store, I got a flat tire. When I finally got here, there was a bunch of people waitingfor me to open up. I got the store opened and started waiting on people and, all the time, the damn phone was ringing off the hook." He continued, "Then I had to break a roll of nickels against the cash register drawer to make change, and they spilled all over the floor. I got down on my hands and knees to pick up the nickels. The phone was still ringing. When I came up, I cracked my head on the open cash drawer which made me stagger back against a showcase with a bunch of perfume bottles on it. . . . all of them hit the floor and broke."
"Meanwhile, the phone is still ringing with no let up, and I finally got to answer it. It was your wife. She wanted to know how to use a rectal thermometer. . . . and believe me, mister, as God is my witness, all I did was tell her."

It has been a long road for Madster. Madster, which started its existence as Aimster, has been battered by not only the RIAA and MPAA, but also by AOL. AOL forced the company to give up its "Aimster" name when it was ruled that the name violated the AOL Instant Messenger trade mark.
One of Madster's greatest shortfalls was the fact that it was a centralized network. Like all great centralized P2P networks, the courts ruled against Madster, forcing it to pull the plug on its servers. Jonny Deep's plea to appeal the ruling was rejected, leaving the Supreme Court as his only hope.
Now with the Spreme Courts rejection of his appeal, the final chapter of Madster's tumultuous existence comes to an end.

A new Trojan downloader posing as a Windows Service Pack update program is being spammed, says Trend Micro.
Listed as having high damage potential, TROJ_XOMBE.A comes as a 'Critical Update' with WINXP_SP1.EXE as an attachment.
The message reads:
"Window Update has determined that you are running a beta version of Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1). To help improve the stability of your computer, Microsoft recommends that you remove the beta version of Windows XP SP1 and re-install Windows XP SP1. If you cannot remove the beta version, you should still reinstall Windows XP SP1.
"Windows XP SP1 provides the latest security, reliability, and performance updates to the Windows XP family of operating systems. Windows XP SP1 is designed to ensure Windows XP platform compatibility with newly released software and hardware, and includes updates to resolve issues discovered by customers or by Microsoft's internal testing team.
"The maximum download size is approximately 3 MB, however the size of the download and time required may be less for computers that have had updates previously installed.
"To minimize the download time needed for installation, setup will only download those files which are required to bring your computer up to date. Windows XP SP1 includes Internet Explorer 6 SP1. Anti-virus software programs may interfere with the installation of Windows XP SP1. Please disable anti-virus software while installing the service pack.
"Just run the file winxp_sp1.exe in attach and make sure to restart your PC after installation will be completed.

The attachment downloads and executes the file MSVCHOST.EXE, which is detected as BKDR_XOMBE.A and runs on Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000 and XP, says Trend.
