  2. I think the record company should have to pay thousands per track sold. The contract sounds clear enough that even a liberal could understand that the record company didn't have the right to sell tracks. They knew full well they couldn't win in court but they pirated the songs and sold them illegally. I'm sure they figured that eventually they would pay what they wanted for royalty and to Hell with what the band wanted or the contract stated. Paying royalties isn't near enough. They should have to pay some fair penalty. $150,000 per track sold sounds fair. That's the figure the RIAA says the songs are worth if you give them away as in filesharing. Since the record company sold them I think the penalty should be more but $150K sounds fair unless they do it again.

    ...and they will.

  3. the forums were huge as well. Everybody had to pass through Gamato at least once a day

I'm guessing you have a lot more free time?

Why does everyone depend on that site? I don't understand why people don't move on to another site hosted in another country. Sites come and go but I keep on doing the same thing. Is it because of the language? Or the content hosted? Does the govt or ISPs block certain sites?

  5. What were you doing on a bus? Did your tractor break down?

It wasn't me. I'd have capped him 4sure. I've lived here for 40 yrs and never rode on a city bus. I wish the city would discontinue bus service. I don't see why everybody doesn't drive a tractor around town. Taxes would go down because the city could save tens of millions of dollars on street repairs besides the money saved on not owning or operating a bus fleet. Dirt roads. Gotta love 'em!

  6. David sings better than I thought he would. I don't think he sold many cds in the U.S. although I believe he did ok in Europe. That sounds like he used the Blue Swede version of that song and screwed it up a little. He is an awful actor. One of the worst to get his show renewed repeatedly.

  7. What is an MFSL remaster?

    Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab.

Company that makes first class 24 bit remasters of lots of albums. They use the original masters at half speed. The cd has a 24kt gold layer. Supposedly the gold provides a more reflective surface so the cd is better quality. The remastering is always good. Basically, they sell premium quality audiophile cds and they do sound better than the standard Capitol, Universal and the other studio's cheaply made mass produced issues. MFSL also makes some very nice heavy vinyl (180g, 200g) albums with their remastering.

Here is an example of the artwork for one of their albums.

  8. It sure was a major quake. The pic is not very representative though. Those shipping containers are a foot taller than they are wide and they stack them at least 3 or 4 high. A very small quake would make them tumble. Some of those pics that show buildings collapsed that were well built does a better job of showing the true power of the quake.

We had a small quake/tremor last year that was centered about 30 miles from my house. It did little if any damage and the fact that we had one was rare for us. The U.S. tries to keep the quakes in L.A. where they can't do any damage. Nothing in L.A. is worth a shit in the first place and nobody with a lick of sense would live there.

I can't think of anybody that lives out that way. How about you Kiwi? Can you think of anyone foolish enough to live there?
