  1. i guess when you made some of the best music of all time by the time you are 25, it is a bit tough to follow and keep up that pace

Maybe the drugs affected him more than he thought  Band on the Run and what I heard from Wings are unlistenable..But I will have to check out Flowers in the Dirt based on Nate's recommendation..

as long as it's free, try them all! the beauty of p2p, no more wasted 10 spots on shitty records

  2. Wasnt this guy also a musician and producer?

george harrison's solo albums he played bass (all things must pass notably) and lennon's "plastic ono band", he was also in manfredd mann, and played on randy newman's "short people", was the producer of da da da, the oddball song from trio on a volkswagen commercial

he did other album covers, including the covers for the beatles' "anthology" series

he's also one of the 18 people to claim the name "the fifth beatle" (or at least to have it thrust upon him)

  3. hell i'd go as far as saying his albums up to "wings over america" were good (Mccartney, Band on the Run, Ram, Speed of Sound, all great)

somewhere around 1980, he ran out of ideas or something (though Flowers in the dirt (1989) isn't half bad, even so it's a small island in almost 3 decades of excrement)

  4. maybe with heroin, his last 15 albums wouldn't have sucked (then again, maybe eating meat was what made his old stuff good)

currently, he's a whacked out fruitcake, and i can honestly say he is prominent in 1 of the 2 simpsons episodes i hate (the other one is the dennis the menace/bush one)--you don't like meat? jim dandy, but don't let it wreck your music (off the ground, with its animal rights/ veggie agenda was the most pitiful album in my recent recollection, second to will hung perhaps)

i always saw him as the pretty boy. i liked john and george best (but ringo had some of the best solo stuff)

  5. same thing happened to R. Crumb

he made a cover for Big Brother and the Holding Company (Cheap Thrills), and got 600 dollars

he got pissed that he didn't get any residuals for the millions of pressings, and guess what he did?

he told anyone else who asked him to do an album cover to screw off

you can be a big baby, or move on (or learn the lesson that you need a better contract for your album cover deals)

do you see Klaus Voorman complaining that he isn't getting residuals for the "Revolver" cover? (if he is alive anymore that is)

  6. Nate might be Toledo quality (Toledo Mudhens AAA team) but Mike Maroth is not. Maroth is somebody I kinda look up to in my sports career of playing baseball with friends and our league. When I fall into a slide or cant pitch well I think well Maroth came back from 20 losses and gettin national attention for it. So I can take this.

    don't drag me into this

    i don't even like baseball

  7. Firefox/Mozilla was buggy for me too...  I liked it, but it just didnt function as well as it should.... Opera has never given me any problems and is pretty nippy even on dial up.

thing is i hate all the crap on the internet--flash, all the activex and java crap, what have you

i like firefox because the plugins are not installed by default (like mozilla, ie, or opera) and then i only have to look at what i want to

a trip to zp with an ordinary browser is all the example i need to give--flash ads, annoying java crap, activex underline link scumware etc. with a default install of firefox it's all gone
