  1. There is also something about Queen II that I never did figure out........

Interesting.... never paid much heed to that before. Black n White.... good n evillllllll.... ? Who knows ... it's all one side on the CD :)

Queen's ability to produce anything new died with Freddie Mercury....

A Queen with anybody else would be a bit of a farse

  2. Right now we have Rock, which encompasses most categories, metal, and alternative.  Umma--are you splitting hairs again? :P

    Absolutely...

but Prog Rock should come under Rock as should Psychadelic, Classic, etc etc

I was merely unsure if it had been put in the right place :P :P :P

It seems to me that most new music is like fast food....

it's ok for a quick bite (bit like a Big Mac.... oops... there's that dirty word again!) but it leaves you hungry for something more digestible.

Are there any new bands that could be classed as progressive?

  3. IF prog rock is included elsewhere I cant find it... it's way past my bedtime

I recently found and promptly downloaded.... well as promptly as dial up allows.... a couple of Starcastle albums (Starcastle and Fountains of Light) I had on vinyl years n years n years ago way back in the good old days.

They still sound so much like Yes that I wonder who copied who. Or was it all mere coincidence.

  4. Are there any legalities in trading bootlegs and rarities not covered by copyright in the normal sense? If you are sharing these files only on P2P networks are there any penalties for doing so?

These recordings are always of interest (well... the decent quality ones at least) but in reading through the postings on this forum I havent yet come across any mention of them.

  5. Yes... sorry... I dont know what came over me....

Stuck on dial up any P2P is a chore to run. I found Soulseek to be the best for actually getting things completed where WinMX and KaZaA were sadly hopeless... as was Napster and Audiogalaxy.

I may give Filetopia a try.... still looking for some stuff I had on vinyl :)
