Ex-Queens of the Stone Age Bassist Nick Oliveri Announces Solo LP

Nick Oliveri, the former member of Queens of the Stone Age who made headlines in 2011 and 2012 when he faced several felonies, has announced a new solo album. It's called Leave Me Alone, and it's out in late September via Schnitzel. Check out album cut "Human Cannonball Explodes", which features guitar work from Dean Ween, here.

Oliveri plays almost all the instruments on the LP, and he produced the record himself. It was recorded at Thunder Underground Studios in Palm Springs, California. It features guitar solos from special guests, including Motörhead's Phil Campbell, Bruno Fevery from Kyuss Lives!, Mike Pygmie from Mondo Generator, Stephen Haas from Moistboyz, Marc Diamond from the Dwarves, and others. Blag Dahlia from the Dwarves also appears to provide guest vocals.

He's due to tour later this year. He'll play acoustic sets and shows with his full band, Uncontrollable. Watch fan-shot footage of Oliveri reuniting with Queens of the Stone Age earlier this year:

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
