Beenie Man Injured In Car Crash

Grammy winning dancehall artist Beenie Man is in a serious condition after crashing his Hummer 4x4 car at around four o'clock this morning in Jamaica. The star, who has had two top ten hits [in Europe], suffered broken ribs and a broken nose in the accident.

He was driving alone and it's not clear what caused the crash.

His injuries aren't life threatening but he was in surgery this morning, so he's likely to be laid out for some time.

As a result his upcoming UK shows have been cancelled, but his UK and European tour in June and July is scheduled to go ahead.

MTV said the wreck occurred in the middle of the night on a road that was under construction. He'll be in the hospital for 3 weeks but is expected to make a full recovery. Hmm, wonder how many spliffs he'd been doing.
