Jay-Z’s Budweiser-sponsored “Made in America” festival is coming up in Philadelphia on September 1 and 2, and it’s promo time. After unveiling the ad earlier this week, a few million more fans got a glimpse when it aired during the Opening Ceremony of the London Olympics last night.

Hov narrates the clip, but saves his appearance until the end when he emerges on stage in front of a giant American flag.

“Through all the lines and things that are put in place to divide us, all like-minded people gather together, we’re more curious than ever. We create music to express ourselves and when the world relates, that’s a beautiful thing. We’re all trading off each other’s culture, so no matter what lines you put--country indie rock, rap, we’re all somehow gonna find a way to come together.”

The Made in America Festival will be held at the city's Benjamin Franklin Parkway on September 1 and 2. The lineup current includes Jay-Z, Pearl Jam, Skrillex, Odd Future, Maybach Music Group featuring Rick Ross, Wale and Meek Mill, Afrojack, Calvin Harris, Passion Pit, Santigold, D'Angelo, Miike Snow, Dirty Projectors, X, Janelle Monae, Prince Royce, Rita Ora, the Knocks and a DJ set by Savoy.

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
