BBQs, fireworks and patriotic-themed rap videos, if there is a better way to celebrate the 4th of July, RapFix hasn’t figured it out yet. Today, to celebrate Independence Day Mac Miller decided to drop his “America” video with Casey Veggies and Joey Bada$$.

The collaborative track which appears on Miller’s Macadelic mixtape unites the three MCs over a jazzy Hannibal King track. Mike Waxx and Mike Carson directed the video which was shot on April 25 in New York City, the same day that Mac sold out the Roseland Ballroom. In the clip Miller, Veggies and Joey all mug for the camera with American flags draped over their backs, while post-production animation effects add a unique flair to it all.

The video like, the mixtape which it was placed on continues to chronicle Miller’s growth as an artist. "It's like the story of someone who is growing up, trying to figure out who he is and trying to figure out what he's supposed to do in the world and how he's gonna change it," Mac told Mixtape Daily of his Macadelic tape back in March. "I think it's a great piece because it's a great part of my career, it's a great time right now and I feel like I been making mixtapes for five years, so this one is very special to me.

"I was trying to make a complete project, but on this project, all I wanted to do is just say what was on my mind," he continued.

You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
