Last Friday was a very heavy day for fans of "The Dark Knight Rises." From a new viral marketing campaign to reactions to the movie's much discussed and about-to-be released prologue scene, Batman pretty much dominated the comic book movie news space. Click on to catch up on everything you may have missed about Gotham City and more!

"Dark Knight Rises" Viral Decoded
The latest viral game for "The Dark Knight Rises," titled Operation Early Bird, has been solved. The end result, as expected, is that certain lucky fans have earned the chance to see the highly anticipated prologue to Christopher Nolan's final Batman movie a couple of days early. The game itself wasn't as complicated as some previous "Dark Knight" viral efforts, but in case of future events, make sure to consult our "Dark Knight Rises" viral survival guide!

"Dark" Prologue Gets Warm Reaction
Speaking of the "Dark Knight Rises" prologue, a lucky few were invited to screen the six-minute sequence late last week. Among those individuals are "Iron Man" director Jon Favreau, "Scott Pilgrim" director Edgar Wright, "Moon" helmer Duncan Jones and "Hostel" mastermind Eli Roth. Their reaction to the footage? Come on — I don't really have to answer that, do I? In case you can't figure it out for yourself, here are their "Rises" reactions.

"Dark Knight" Actor Dies
In less uplifting news, tragedy has once again struck the "Dark Knight" crew. It was reported recently that an extra died during shooting in New York City last month. The unidentified actor suffered a fatal heart attack during a break in rehearsals for a scene to be filmed in the city's Financial District. Warner Bros. issued a statement on the matter, which you can read over here.

Finally, and unrelated to "The Dark Knight," the MTV Movies team continues our look back at the year in film by asking you to vote on the best superhero of 2011. Your choices: Captain America, Green Hornet, Green Lantern, Magneto and Thor. Which one do you think was the best this year? But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
