Justin Bieber has proven that he’s a heavyweight in the music industry, working with a bevy of stars in his still-blossoming career. And although the Canadian teen sensation plans to drop a star-studded, holiday-themed album Under The Mistletoe next week, the 17-year-old is already looking to secure features from two of hip-hop’s biggest stars for his third studio album. During an interview with the UK’s Capital FM, Bieber revealed that he’s working with Kanye West and fellow Canadian heartthrob Drake for his upcoming album Believe.

“I’m working with a lot of cool people,” Bieber told DJ Rich Clarke. “I’m working with Kanye. Drake is gonna work on the album with me and a lot of different artists.” West and Bieber have previously teamed up on Ye’s Wu-Tang flavored remix of “Runaway Love” with a feature from Clan swordsman Raekwon. The Biebs plans to add more hip-hop influences to his project, enlisting the services of Kevin Cossom, Bangladesh and Danja as well.

Bieber’s visiblity in the hip-hop world has been on the steady rise, thanks to a recent feature on Chris Brown’s Boy In Detention mixtape, but the boy wonder was recently denied a cypher slot at the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards, when he reportedly requested that Ludacris ghost write his raps.

Nevertheless, Bieber’s Under The Mistletoe X-mas album should be another wildly successful smash, thanks to features that include Mary J. Blige, Busta Rhymes, Boyz II Men and his mentor Usher.

Believe will be released in early 2012.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
