50 Cent Promotes Anti-Bullying Book On 'Today' Show

G-Unit general Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has long proven that he’s much more than just a rapper. The forward thinking businessman has dipped his toes into several entrepreneurial pools in recent years and the Queens-bred mogul is currently on a promotional spree for his second book Playground. The teen-targeted anti-bullying book is set for a November 1 release and on Tuesday (October 25) Fif made an appearance on NBC’s "The Today Show" to discuss it.

The book, penned with the help of Lizzie Akana, was inspired by an increasing nationwide bullying trend. According to Fif, the concerned father of a 15-year-old, he has hopes that his notoriety will bring attention to bullying epidemic, which readers can further explore in the book. “Because my son is 15 years old, right now, it's a relevant issue for me." 50 said, admitting that as a young man he bullied others too. "I had more experiences where I was part of the problem.”

Although Fif displayed some remorse for his bullying past on the program, the tough-talking entertainer is still known to ruffle a few feathers once in awhile. His latest outburst, however, was for a good cause. On Saturday (October 22) he took to his Facebook page to deliver a fiery tirade rallying against world hunger, corporate greed and political corruption.

The rant was triggered by 50’s displeasure with the response to his Street King energy drink campaign, which aimed to feed one million hungry children per week. “People don’t seem to care anymore,” Fif wrote. “People seem to have distanced themselves from other people’s problems, they have been programmed not to care!”
