Young Jeezy has been working overtime. Now that his long-delayed TM:103 has a new December 20 release date the Snowman has been getting busy in the studio. Today DJ Folk dropped six new Jeezy freestyles over some very popular beats.

Rapping over Drake’s “Headlines” the Thug Motivator used Drizzy’s built-in flow to set things off. “I might overwhelmed with haters b---h/ Overdosed on hater sh--, really need to go and kill yourself if you a hater b---h,” he spit before he rattled off even more bars directed at the naysayers.
Like all of freestyles he dropped today, Jeezy sets the record off on the first verse and leaves the rest of the original track intact. So in the case of “Headlines” Jizzle’s 16 leads way into the Toronto MC’s original hook and verses. The formula is used throughout.

Next up is Fabolous and Red Café’s “Y’all Don’t Hear Me.” Jeezy fits nicely over the Cardiak beat, his gravelly voice is the perfect compliment for the dramatic melody. “Cashed out, never fronted, I ain’t gotta front/ Gotta stunt man b---h, I ain’t gotta stunt,” he rhymes in his patented drawl.

Jeezy delivers a dose of thug love on Lil Wayne’s “She Will” and gets his Scarface on over Future’s “Tony Montana.” On the latter, the ATL trapper puts his jewels on full display and stunts when he spits, “Paid the Beamer 645 coupe for the necklace/ All white stones in the chain like I’m prejudice.”

Big Sean’s “A$$” gets redone as well as 2Win’s infectious “Whole Thang” to round things out. It’s not quite a mixtape, but the impromptu tape is mixed with a variety of rap treats. Thanks Jeezy.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
