Ahead of releasing her as-yet-untitled sixth studio album, Barbadian pop songstress Rihanna has teamed up with Scottish singer-songwriter Calvin Harris for the LP's debut single “We Found Love." The hard charging and energetic track is easily geared for the clubs, employing Harris’ signature electronic dance-ready sound – as the bigness of the track meshes well with Rihanna’s confident vocals.

After hinting yesterday (September 21) via Twitter about the collaboration with Harris, the island beauty dropped the song this morning (September 22) and fans have chimed in with varying opinions of the track.

On social media network Twitter, where dozens of Rihanna fans have created spinoff accounts interpolating the singer’s name, the song has been lauded and dissected in its short release time. “[W]e found love is amazing!!!!! When is it gonna be on iTunes,” tweeted @whenlove_isgone to the singer’s Twitter account. “Omg I love @rihanna we found love its so up tempo,” added an excited @IHateRachelRose. A supportive @ThisIsJulie added, “still listening to we found love. I'm addicted.”

In anticipation of her live set, fan @kadezw pondered, “Is there a slight possibility that @Rihanna will sing We Found Love on her Loud tour now? 17 days to go!” A critical @Fannylicious asked her timeline, “Why does @rihanna's "we found love" sound like what a newcomer artist would put out just to fit in? Catchy tune though.” And while there were a small smattering of fans who disliked the track, the overwhelming outpouring of support of Rihanna’s latest easily drowned out the naysayers. The iTunes numbers for “We Found Love” also continue to rise up as the single makes it way around the web and blogosphere.

Rihanna’s sixth album has been reported to be released this coming fall with some outlets reporting November 21 as the release date.

Calvin Harris will be releasing a third studio album with current single “Feels So Close” burning up the global charts.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
