Sultry tennis superstar Serena Williams has had several confirmed and rumored high profile relationships, including being linked with director Brett Ratner and rapper-actor Common. The latest news to hit the mill was a rumor stating that Canadian rapper Drake and Williams were an item.

After Drizzy was seen supporting Serena at a recent tennis match in his hometown of Toronto and news surfacing of the pair vacationing in Florida, the Web was ablaze with chatter of the two being a new power couple.

Serena Williams addressed the talk of her and Drake dating, stating there’s no connection beyond friendship between them. “Oh, man. Really?” she said to the Toronto Star. “We’re really close friends. Can’t be too close to a friend nowadays, I guess.” And the closeness is definitely confirmed with several photos of the pair in South Florida playing tennis together and the rapper showing vocal support for his friend on the court.

Drake has kept cool up to the moment about the connection and has neither confirmed or denied the rumor. However, reports show that Drizzy has playfully flirted with Serena via Twitter and a candid webcam photo seemingly displayed a closeness that supports the tennis player’s statements regarding their friendship. Drake has recently been rumored to be to have been romantically linked to Barbadian pop star Rihanna, amid news that sources reported the pair was dating. There were also photos of the two dining together in Drake’s home country last month that surfaced on the Web.

Drake is preparing his Young Money sophomore release Take Care for an October release – the rapper’s birthday month.

Must be nice to be Drake these days.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
