Summer time in London and with a couple of weeks of sunshine we have all but forgotten the rain - time to celebrate!

Being the obliging people we are down here at Dim Sum HQ we’ve reached into our box of tricks and found the keys to the Golden Flame...however did they get there? That’s right, it’s Boat Party time again and we will be joined by some Very Special guest’s in the form of JAY CUNNING and ATOMIC HOOLIGAN. Needing no introduction the Party Faithful, these two talented gents are the brains behind the hugely successful Menu Music and lately have kicked off two fantastic new labels Sub Slayers (Jay) and Bass = Win (Terry Hooligan with Rico Tubbs).

The brand new label by Menu Music & Kiss FM's Jay Cunning, Sub Slayers came out the starting blocks hard in 2009 with a mission statement that is clear and to the point. Breakbeat will be pushed forward and put back on the map with innovation and forward thinking. They will be at the forefront of this movement by cross pollinating their music with Dubstep, Electronica and anything else they find to be fresh and alluring.

Bass = Win, well the name says it all. Choose bass, and reap the kudos of your fellow man. Rico Tubs & Terry Hooligan have always known this deep down, but have now decided to share this hear felt ethic with you.... the Public. In just three easy steps, you too can be Adonis-like figures of excellence, comparable to these worthy patrons.

Step 1. Forget what you have been taught
Step 2. Choose Bass
Step 3. Win

The Bass = Win high commissions in London, UK & Tampere, Finland, will now exclusively house the works of Atomic Hooligan & Rico Tubs. Many exciting new examples of their work following the way of the 3 steps will be released to the public in the coming months.

Support will come from the Dim Sum Resident DJs and Inigo Club’s in-house promotion Spinning Quickly who will be hosting Room 2 featuring Hilton Caswel, DJ Download’s Nobody Random Sound System and Eruption DJs

With Sage like words of wisdom from two of the scene’s peers and beats aplenty where will you be on JULY 31st at 1pm? I know where I’ll be........kicking back with a couple of mates, some bevvies and enjoying some Phat New Sounds with Terry, Jay and the rest of the Dim Sum Crew

peace

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
