Soundcrash presents a very special night of heavyweight bass showcasing the past, present and future of low-end, ear-drum-battering electronic music. With a line-up that includes top exponents of Electro-Dancehall, Roots Dubstep, LA-Tronic Soul, French Wonk, and a very special set from some true Old-Skool Jungle legends, expect a full assault on your senses - and your feet. Tickets will surely fly out the door for this so don't delay and get yours now!

Sheffield's Toddla T is a man much in demand. And for good reason. When he's not remixing the likes of Roots Manuva, Hot Chip, Roisin Murphy and Tricky; Toddla T has a monthly residency at Fabric and hosts his own show on BBC Radio 1. His own productions - a mixture of dubstep, electro and dancehall - ooze energy and good vibrations, and have turned dancefloors the world over into sweaty messes. Tonight he will be joined on the mic by his trusted companion Mc Serocee to bring you the Tropical Heat. As the great Roots Manuva would say... Yes, yes, and furthermore, yes!

One half of Digital Mystikz, Mala has left an indelible print on the world's electronic music landscape. One of the original pioneers of what would come to be widely known as Dubstep, Mala champions the fusion of dark, rolling beats, with an organic Roots sensibility. Having released records on DMZ, Soul Jazz, Tectonic and Tempa, and remixed the likes of Skream and Fat Freddy's Drop, you know this man is the real deal. Dubsteppas beware!!

Kevin Martin aka The Bug has teamed up with Roger Robinson to create King Midas Sound, "the spiritual heir to Tricky's classic Maxinquaye with added bass and a tight percussive swing" (Boomkat). One of the most talked about dub/dubstep acts in recent moths, KMS brings forth maximum bass weight on a bespoke sound system tonight at Koko. Good thing there are no upstairs neighbours or their nerves would be wrecked!

The Ragga Twins are the link between UK dancehall reggae, jungle and hip-hop. Deman Rockers and Flinty Badman began their careers as MCs for North London’s legendary Unity reggae sound system, but truly made their mark when they teamed up with Shut Up & Dance in 1990. From then on the Twins became a main staple of the rave scene that would greatly influence many of today's young producers across the UK and beyond. This is a great opportunity to catch a glimpse of that defining period of time. Watch out for dem lasers... Ragga Twins Step Out!

If you've been to any clubnight worth it's salt in the past couple of months, chances are you've gone nuts on the dancefloor for an afrobeat infused wobbly tune called "Nigeria What?" The man responsible for that catchy little ditty is the Parisian born Débruit, a man on a mission to sample the music from all corrners of the world, and chop it into instantly likeable slabs of wonky goodness. To make sure tonight goes off with a bang Débruit will be performing his brilliant live show for the lucky early crowd.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
