Get Ready To Get Rabid…

The Rabid Festival on Saturday 7th November (8pm-8am) is London’s first winter music festival. So while most people have nothing more to look forward to than a credit-crunch Christmas and the usual NYE clubbing rip-offs, you’ll be able to enjoy 5 rooms of music from the best underground promoters in London: Wet Yourself; Lost Souls; Ketoloco; Trailer Trash and DJ MAG. Why, it’s enough to leave you foaming at the mouth…

The Rabid Festival sees top international DJs – including techno superstar Umek, Matthias Tanzmann (Moon Harbour Recordings / DC10), Andre Kraml (Kompakt) and Silversufer (Crosstown Rebels) – sharing the limelight with London talent like Hannah Holland & Mikki Most (Trailer Trash) FB Julian (Kubicle) and a huge cast of others, all at a secret South London location. Location details will be revealed in August, but there will be state-of-the-art sound and lighting, naturally, with Rabid’s indoor vibe meaning you’re safe from the elements and can actually hear the music as the noise police won’t be knocking!

Tickets for the Rabid Festival will cost £25 + BF (early bird) and then £35 + BF – great value compared to most summer events around. But for the Rabid Festival crew, partying is an all-year-round pastime.

Rabid Festival Crew explains: ‘London needs a winter festival – people don’t just want to party in the summer! What are they supposed to do the rest of the time?’

Wet Yourself promoter and Rabid Festival room host Mr Cormac agrees:

Raving is an all year round past time! London is a fantastic city in that there are always incredible events and parties available throughout the year. Date-wise this is the perfect time to do a big party as its between summer and Christmas, and the rave family of London will be hungry for this incredible line-up and party.’

*Watch out for the Rabid Festival pre-party on Saturday 31st October with Davide Squillace, plus the Rabid Festival / Lost Souls afterparty, which kicks off at 8am after the main event! Details of both to follow...*

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
