NY-LON @ The Den

Saturday 2nd May

10pm-7am

After storming the first party in Shoreditch, Ny-lon is happy to be hosting the LAUNCH NIGHT at The Den (formally the End Club) with help from the infamous Kitchen Party, we have put together a selection of a few of the finest DJs from Get Physical Music (Berlin), Yeah:No Recordings and Brut Records to bring you mind blowing entertainment on the night. We also have MEME the Leeds based zine, with a zealous attitude to emerging, and existing, future movements in music. Joining them are Leeds' very own Cassette Jam, winners of the Cream DJ competition, but above all a slick duo of technical sublimity. In addition, our Dollop friends of old will be joining us, to preach an all-round-sound to the lounge in The Den. With four decks, multi laptop-ery and sample tectonics, this is going to be a behemoth of a shakedown.

DJUMA SOUNDSYSTEM are the electronic outlet for Norwegian DJs Mikkas and the Dane Lars B - the duo behind the modern classic "Les Djinns", a mix of lush Arabic drumming and house, with a sweet light and melancholic melody thrown in for good measure. The result is a mind-blowing tune that is impossible to put down as just one genre….Djuma Soundsystem was born. Their warm and groovy approach to electronic beats has received no less than extraordinary reviews. Djuma Soundsystem prides them selves on engaging the crowd's interest with their bass-line driven warm sounds. The boys are half way through their world tour and have already received raving feedback from promoters and crowds for their DJ skills and live performances

Tiger Stripes is the Swedish sensation Mikael Nordgren , With recent and forthcoming remixes of Onionz on Toolroom, Dave Lee’s ‘Mucho Macho’ on Z Records, Christian Falk & Robyn on DATA, and Kaskade on US label Ultra Records, along with a remix of the next Roger Sanchez single and an EP scheduled on Toolroom, the hype surrounding this Stockholm producer shows no tendencies to slow down, and remix requests keep pouring in.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
