Ever wonder what Warren Haynes favorite albums are? Here they are ... this is a cool article:

Warren Haynes is not only a key member of a number of today’s top-tier blues-rock ensembles, but the guitarist possesses a zeal for classic blues albums that rivals that of even the most ardent collectors. And if you’re in the mood for CD shopping, he’s got a few recommendations.

“The reason I start this list with a Willie Dixon box set is because there are so many different artists on it,” the guitarist explains. “You can get stuff from a lot of different directions. All these selections are from a great era of blues, and they all feature great artists.”

The Chess Box (MCA/Chess, 1989)

This is a two-disc set mainly of other blues artists covering Willie Dixon songs: Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Little Milton, Otis Rush, Koko Taylor. There are a few tunes where Willie sings as well. It’s unbelievable. I always looked at Willie as like the Chuck Berry of the blues. He was the guy who told the stories. He was the guy who put a visual image in people’s heads with blues lyrics.

Every great blues artist covered a Willie Dixon song, and every great rock and roll band that was influenced by blues during that era covered a .......

      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
