Two men about to kiss by a pool.

Not long into the trailer for Bros, podcaster Bobby Lieber (Billy Eichner) says, "Love is love is love? No, it's not, that is bullshit!"

Bobby has been asked to write a rom-com about a gay couple, one that would show that gay relationships and straight relationships are the same. Essentially, a romantic comedy about gay people that caters to the straights. Based on the NSFW trailer, Bros is not that movie.

Co-written by Eichner and Nicholas Stoller, Bros is the first rom-com from a major studio that centers on two gay men. An entirely LGBTQ principal cast that includes Luke Macfarlane, Ts Madison, Monica Raymund, Guillermo Díaz, Harvey Fierstein, and Bowen Yang joins Eichner for a raunchy rom-com in the tradition of Trainwreck, Bridesmaids, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Bros opens in theaters Sept. 30.

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
