In recent years, it can be said that the quality of synthetic wigs has improved considerably. The fibers are thicker, more realistic and much more resistant to cold and heat. Moreover, after each wash, they easily regain their previous shape thanks to their shape memory. They even have a certain advantage today. It dries faster than natural hair and does not soak up water. However, they have lighter fibers and unfortunately, they tangle too easily. Moreover, after a time of use, they get damaged. So, when faced with a damaged synthetic wig, it is important to know how to repair it and how to avoid this.

The factors that lead to having a damaged synthetic wig

Synthetic wigs remain the most affordable wigs on the market with their cost remaining lower compared to natural wigs. However, it should be noted that synthetic wigs are not similar to natural wigs. Several elements constitute obstacles to the conservation of wigs. Not having the same constitution and the same resistance as natural hair like the one below made with hair from Malaysia, they cannot resist in difficult conditions.

Curls that get tangled

On synthetic wigs, unwanted curls can form at the end of the strands. In this case, it is possible to use a straightener like the one below, if of course your strands are heat resistant.

As an example, our black long hair wig made of premium quality fibers that you can discover by clicking on the picture below resists temperatures up to 180°C.

If you bought your synthetic wig at the local market and have no idea if the synthetic fibers are heat resistant, you should not risk burning them. In this case, you can simply style them in a bathroom filled with steam, as the moisture allows the wick to take its original shape. To do this, you can simply do it after you have taken a nice hot shower and the steam is still fully spread around you.

If you want to use a straightener because of the difficulty of straightening the hair, take the trouble to set it to temperatures between 50 and 70 degrees. Above all, be very careful about how your fibers react to the heat. Keep in mind that the slightest mistake can cause your fiber to melt.

In any case, the best solution will always be to buy quality wigs first.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
