I watched the interview and thought the comparisons made between Lynne Cheney and Jim Webb were fair. Both authors were selling fictional works with sexual content. However, if Cheney's lesbian sexual material wasn't important in 2 elections when her hubby was running for VP, then Webb's book should have no bearing on his Senatorial campaign. Furthermore, George Allen's role in a movie as a Confederate General making racist comments, combined with the Confederate flag episode, noose in his office, macaca remarks, etc., is just too much of a coincidence to view this guy as anything other than a bigot. Finally, Blitzer is a pathetic journalist who should have done his homework by having direct quotes from the book to counter her lies instead of relying on the work of others.
