CKY Frontman Slams 'Lonely, Jealous' BLABBERMOUTH.NET 'Losers' - June 2, 2005

CKY guitarist/vocalist Deron Miller has slammed the "lonely, jealous music fans" who have posted scathingly negative comments about his band on BLABBERMOUTH.NET. Writing in response to the comments that accompanied the the latest CKY news story on this web site (dated June 1), Miller said, "I just wanted to say that not one post can go by from any band/artist without a handful of lonely, jealous music fans (?) leaving stupid remarks about EVERY SINGLE BAND that posts. It's obvious that this is blabbermouthers' only time to shine — to show that they can put others down without cause or even knowing anything about the band/artist. Try to find one news post that doesn't have a string of lame, uneducated and closed-minded responses from people that WISH they were the people that they are slagging. It's not just Dave Mustaine, MÖTLEY CRÜE, ROTTING CHRIST, or CKY — it's everyone. And the negative opinions are so lame it's embarassing to read them, so it should be embarrassing to write them.

"Why don't all of you negative fucks find some friends and power outside of the house? Your slagging remarks are boring, and I'm sure they'll be yet another string of dull crap to follow this post: 'CK-who', 'CKY sucks' (that's an original one). Let me save you the time... I won't be reading them! But you'll do it anyway, because that's just how predictable you are. We don't give a fuck, and neither do the other great bands (or bad bands) on here that are doing what you WISH you were doing.

"To the positive people that are in touch with reality... I commend you for trying to put these losers in their place and making Blabbermouth a cool site to visit."

I suppose this was posted to generate responses.

I think this was a bad move on Mr. Miller's behalf. Does he think he's winning any fans by saying this? If this type of badmouthing his band is a problem, then he must be worried. Worried that the legions of fans that have allowed him to continue his career are failing. If CKY is that great, why even give them the time of day? Rely on your notoriety as a great beand and move on.

(Edit - The CKY special is over.)

Thanks For the Reply LoTD, im glad someone actually has the nuts to say their opinion in a civilized manner.

I know you dont like the band, and think they do have big ego's. And, your right, Deron posted this, mainly just to get a rise out of them; from his message board (www.deronmiller.com)

whatever, i just like to piss off those dorks for fun. the responses make me laugh. its a late night activity, what can i say?

He posted that in a thread about the comments he made. I have no idea why he would do this. It is funny in a way, but now he has opened himself up to more attacks & more reason for people not to like him. I do respect how Deron speaks his mind though, most guys wouldn't say a word. He stands up for what he believes and isn't afraid to call people out, including one of his idols, Dave Mustaine. (see here for Dave Mustaine vs. Deron article) He and the rest of this band care and are involved with their fans unlike any other band on the planet, he always responds to hand written letters sent to him, private messages, and emails and even messages us on Ebay if we are in danger of being ripped off, what other band would go so far for their fans? The problem with Blabbermouth is not their insults to CKY, its their insults and negative comments about every band ever posted on the site. The sad thing is that the majority of Blabbermouth posters have NEVER HEARD ANY MUSIC FROM THE BANDS THEY ARE SLAGGING, this doesnt just include CKY. The respect factor is there for me, i will always stand behind Deron & CKY.

Once again, thanks for replying LOTD.

Reminder to all!

CKY's "Familiar Realm" single, link, is in the Music Download section at BK

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
