The first Mixed show will feature two of the most talked about breakthrough producers over the last few years and another newcomer who’s making ripples across the scene.

First up is Belfast based Ejeca who’s productions float through a variety of different styles, tempos and influences to create an intoxicatingly recognisable sound. Celebrated by his contemporaries for his talents in the studio, he has built up a reputation as being a “producer’s producer”; whilst still being able to bring the fire behind the decks. In the clubs he takes the crowd on a journey and brings the dance floor together with an expansive track selection.

On top of that we’ve called on a very special guest DJ who’s twist on classic house music has picked up fans from the European house and techno circuit as well as the more UK bass driven movement. This young hot shot has quickly become a trusted connoisseur of underground house music; bringing with him a real flare and an almost encyclopedic knowledge of our beloved genre.

Not forgetting Sisterhood who have been pushing all the right buttons with an organic sounding mix of house, disco and techno. Releasing with the likes of Tief, the guys have also picked up strong support from the likes of Bicep amongst many others.

Rooted in house, Mixed will explore the breath of the scene to celebrate eclecticism and the cross pollination of styles in electronic music. With the aim to showcase revolutions in the genre, Mixed will draw on forward thinking artists that have redefined styles through originality in the studio and innovation in the club.

To coincide with the launch of the series we are looking for one DJ to win a mini residency at the series, starting at the February show. Run in association with Mixcloud, Point Blank will also provide an 8-week online production course as an additional prize for the winner. Information on how to enter is coming soon…

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
