Magnus - 2nd Born / Vermillion

Magnus continues his run of high quality material (starting with his collab with Thomas Datt, Borderline's first release of 2014) with a brand new EP of hybrid uplifting trance with psy elements.

Both 2nd Born and Vermillion are melodic monsters that are a cut above the usual trance by numbers that has infested the scene of late. With a huge amount of DJ's moving towards psy trance, Magnus holds firm with his own mixture which pushes a far more melodic and enveloping sound.

Jirah brings us a flavour of the 'real' psychedelic scene with an awesome full on remix, albeit a little slower than the usual 142+ bpm he is used to, allowing his remix to cross and be accessible to a more traditional trance crowd.

Lovely stuff!

Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
