Tal's first musical experience was at the age of 16 when he started to play drums and guitar. During this period he has discovered trance music. At the age of 21 he started to produce his own progressive trance material and perform in clubs and outdoor events. His passion for digital production eventually gave birth to CIMI, a crossover project between full on and progressive psytrance. CIMI's first tracks appeared in compilations by Alchemy Records, Point Zero Records and Y.S.E. The project was put on hold until late 2008 while Marcello was focusing on M-Theory with his former partner Rob. Since establishing himself in the psytrance scene, he has been able to resume his work on CIMI too. The use of many aliases enabled him to make different styles of music and create a situation that allowed him to release many records in a short period of time. By 1998 his discography was so big that most DJ's in the world had at least one of his releases in their record box; resulting in massive support of his works. That year brought him instant recognition and success all over the world with Dave Holmes 'Samsara', Steve Morley 'Reincarnations' and Soulman 'Put your house'. This resulted in him signing exclusively as Alici to Cream and was the first artist ever to release on the label. After the signing of Starchild 'Redemption' to Slinky, Alici decided it was time to move to the UK. After a period of intensive DJing and working on more commercial projects, the time had come to return to his first love; Trance. Being one half of the psychedelic -trance act Cathar has seen him sign to Free-Spirit Records with an upcoming EP and Album scheduled for release soon. Steve has a discography containing over 120 releases and countless remixes - on highly respected record labels. His love for Trance music saw him produce and play almost all the sub genres; and his affection for psychedelic music stems from the time he discovered Goa trance in the mid 90’s. Jessica B started producing and DJing in 2005 and instantly received recognition and praise for her first releases, which gained massive Radio 1 support. Cathar is Steve’s latest incarnation and it is a collaboration with Jessica B, herself no slacker behind the mixing desk, that allows them both to explore their affection for psy-trance; expressing it as a studio project and live experience. The fruits of their labour can now include the full-length feature album The Union, released by London’s source of psy-sauciness Free-Spirit Records whose own back catalogue is quick becoming the embodiment of delectability via diversity. The Union, other than the closing track which maybe the first example of psy-dubstep, is a part homage to Steve’s earliest influences of this Trance genus, Goa, fused with other, almost indistinguishable, elements from across the spectrum. Rippling with stripped-back, no-nonsense go-forward. The Union’s few frivolities and balance of clear endeavour with driving intensity permitting Cathar to stand firm in comparisons with their contemporaries and a must for those who believe divinity is a direct derivative of dancing.
