  2. Joe Perry claims Steven Tyler has quit Aerosmith....

"Frankly, the last few months I've been wanting not to rock the boat. I don't want him cancelling any more gigs. We really wanted to do these last four. We just kind of didn't want to call him out or anything and get him anymore pissed off, for whatever reason. So we just let things lie. So we did the gigs and, like I said, I got off the plane and saw this online. That's how I know about it... He has had no contact with me or the other band members."

  3. Last Child" is a song performed by American hard rock band Aerosmith. It was written by Steven Tyler and Brad Whitford. It was released as the first single from the band's hard rock album Rocks in 1976. The song peaked at #21 on the Billboard Hot 100, one of many in a string of hit singles for the band in the mid-1970s. Long after its release, "Last Child" continues to see regular airplay on rock radio stations and is regularly rotated into Aerosmith's concert setlist, even on their latest tour. In concert, it is often Brad Whitford's feature spot, in which Steven Tyler gives him an introduction with something like "Brad Whitford, what you got to show for yourself?" or "What you got up your sleeve?"

News spread like wildfire this week that a website called BlueBeat is being sued for copyright infringement for selling and streaming Beatles songs — the first time the tunes have been available digitally.

But here’s where it gets weird: BlueBeat now claims the company owns the copyright to these songs, which the site is selling for 25 cents each, or $4.25 per album.

Here’s Bluebeat CEO Hank Risan’s opposition to EMI’s application for a restraining order to stop BlueBeat from selling the files, filed on Wednesday....

Defendants' Opposition to TRO in Capitol v. BlueBeat

A Los Angeles federal judge set aside arguments from Hank Risan, owner of BlueBeat and other companies named as defendants in the lawsuit EMI filed on Tuesday. His novel defense to allegations he was unlawfully selling the entire stereo Beatles catalog without permission was that he — and not EMI or the Beatles’ Apple Corp — owns these sound recordings, because he re-recorded new versions of the songs using what he termed “psycho-acoustic simulation.”
