16 frames of images per second creates a moving image, there are 16 bars in a lot of your favourite songs, 16 mm film in your movies and 16bit created the most iconic video game characters. The number 16 is surrounded by creativity, symbolising great change and evolution. Energised by the number, we’re going to make LWE NYD 2016 the best one yet.

The century comes of age hitting the sweet-sixteenth year, so those New Year’s resolutions can wait a little longer. Bringing futuristic production that’s built on inspirations of the past, we’ve selected a line-up that is built around a similar ethos.

Following on from the hype of 2014 & 2015 we’re expecting LWE NYD 2016 to hit a new level for LWE!

Maceo Plex and his Dream Don’t Sleep concept will takeover The Great Gallery with very special guests Âme bringing their remarkable live showcase. We welcome back LWE favourite Anja Schneider who has been our Tobacco Dock resident this year to play an extended set in the car park, no doubt she will create many more of the magic moments that we have come to expect.

The guys behind Slide and Get Diverted launch a new brand in November, 'Proto', with Norwegian DJ and producer Prins Thomas alongside the brilliant and underrated Mark Seven. Dabble host the Boudoir. With extended sets from headline acts and interesting programming there is a great buzz surrounding Matt and Rob's new venture.

Prins Thomas is responsible for a swag of the eclectic ‘space-disco’ sounds emanating from his homeland, Norway.

Thomas is producer DJ and remixer, for himself with his own releases, Way back in time, he started playing around as a DJ at a puerile age. Viewing it as an extension of his break-dancing efforts, Thomas began mixing hip hop, electro and the likes of Arthur Baker and Shep Pettibone. He then took up the bass and played in more bands than Norway has trees.

He joined forces with Hans-Peter Lindstrøm in 2003. They both have backgrounds in different Norwegian band projects, ranging from punk to gospel to heavy metal to folk and psychedelia, but they also shared a passion for collecting records and run their own labels Feedelity, Full Pupp and Internasjonal.

Based in Stockholm since the late 1990s, British-born Mark Seven began his obsession with the dance at now vaunted London parties such as Delirium, to a soundtrack of Soul, Funk, and Hip Hop. As Acid House took root in the capital Mark became a regular at the similarly hallowed Future and Shoom and started organizing his own events. His passion for discovery led him to journey to the U.S. and Europe to source vinyl, and has resulted in his own on-line store, JusWax. In Stockholm Mark set up the Black Lodge all-nighters, mix-tapes from which helped to alert the outside world to his knowledge and ability.

Producing since 1991 and running labels since 1992, Mark`s current project, Parkway, is inspired by the sounds he first fell in love with: the explosion of creativity that occurred post-Disco, when electronics became more affordable and the music moved back underground. Names like Paul Simpson, Winston Jones and Boyd Jarvis, Emergency, Streetwise, and Easy Street. Records with Herb “The Pump” Powers etched i and segues of exclusive edits / remixes of unknown-to-all-but-a-few Black music releases of the 1980s. Unsung tracks that fed into a sound that became House. A history, that without people like Mark, would have already been forgotten.

Operating in London, Bristol, Brighton and Reading, Nightowl is responsible for bringing some of the biggest names in House and Techno to the masses, and this night promises to be no different.

Our headliner for the night will be Amos Nelson, aka Waifs & Strays - a Bristol based DJ and Producer who has exploded across the House and Techno scene in recent years. With releases on Kerri Chandler's Mad Tech Records and Luke Solomun's Classic imprint, there's a reason why he's at the very top of his game, and we can't wait to welcome him back to the club!

Next up on the bill, we have Berlin’s own Philip Bader whose productions have seen releases on Monika Kruse’s label Electric Avenue as well as Kindisch, Saved and Moon Harbour. His style is characterized by deep minimalist Techno influences and creatively placed vocals, often sampling his own voice, while his DJ sets are like his productions: deep, playful and powerful.

Over the past 5 years De La Swing has shared turntables with the likes of Marco Carola, Loco Dice and Richie Hawtin, to name but a few. Since 2010, he has been a cornerstone of Elrow, the after-hours party based in the ever growing electronic hub of Barcelona. He’s sure to bring the sunshine vibes to Elephant and Castle when he makes his debut on October 17th!

Daley (Hot Since 82) launched the Knee Deep In London series last year with a sell out show at The Laundry, before taking over The Steel Yard earlier this year, an event that sold out over 4 weeks in advance. If the Yorkshireman's recent performances on the white isle and across globe are anything to go by this will be no different.

On the night Daley (Hot Since 82) will be joined by a hand picked selection of special guests across two rooms showcasing the artist’s Daley admires and one of his favourite labels. Full details of all guests will be announced on Tuesday 29th September.

Once again we expect this to be the hottest ticket in town from one off electronic music’s most in demand artists.

For the final installment of 'Up On The Roof' for the summer of 2015, we have a very special August Bank Holiday Monday session with the legendary Norman Jay spinning for the fourth time this summer. This is set to be a great alternative / follow on to Carnival!

Good Times Soundsystem regular Rudy Ranx supports plus fast rising star Tasty Lopez...

As the Good Times founder, Member of the British Empire and all round good egg, Norman has represented the entire spectrum of black music, from soul, funk, disco, reggae and jazz, right through to the more contemporary sounds of house, garage and drum'n'bass.

Norman's legendary Good Times sound system, has been the go-to spot at Europe's largest street party, the Notting Hill Carnival, for 30 years.
Good Times was THE party that changed the face of the Notting Hill Carnival and which has become a summertime fixture at festivals worldwide. Jay set up his first sound system, Great Tribulation, in 1979 with his brother Joey, which became Good Times in 1981, the start of a 30-year residency at Notting Hill Carnival. Norman changed the face of the music played there, introducing a range of gritty, soulful styles to complement the predominantly reggae-based sound systems. The move paved the way for the open-minded Carnival we know today, with Good Times still at its core.

See you Up On The Roof!
