Sound Advice

Came accross this group called the sounds - great band - but my problem is how to classify the music... is it rock / indie / pop ?... the beats have a mixed electronic sometimes with almost an 80's feel and even a fall out boy remix i heard that verges on hip hop ? it loses me quite how to describe them. With all these apparent influences can you pigeonhole such a group into a single genre ? what would you call it ? for examples check a track called tony the beat on their myspace page www.myspace.com/thesounds this may help demostrate my point. What do u rekon ? how would you sum them up ?
