I believe that constitutes unlawful searches and seizures. Somebody is gonna challenge this and win.

Much to eveyone's chagrin, "The Virginia Supreme Court declared the state's anti-spam law unconstitutional Friday," according to a story in Wired.
"The court unanimously agreed with Jeremy Jaynes' argument that the law violates the free-speech protections of the First Amendment because it does not just restrict commercial e-mails - it restricts other unsolicited messages as well."
Looks like the lawmakers should go back and get their language right.

Seems the legislature messed up a good thing. A good antispam law that's carefully crafted is a help in the fight against the rising tide of spam.

The Senate passed the bill. It was supported by the RIAA. It's on to President Bush, who is expected to sign the bill.
So once that happens...then what? More bickering?

Bush? He's a has-been also-ran lame-duck just like his father was. He'll turn wherever the political winds blow just to keep . He screwed up royally on the katrina fiasco...now time for a BIG payback!!!

So, they say that not allowing digital downloads, increases cd sales.
Well, if people had bought it from an online store then the cd would sell less but the label would still get the money.
Do they want to sell BOTH cds AND digital copies? They want people to buy the the album twice?
I think the consumer should have MORE choice in the FORMAT of the album, whether downloadable or in a CD. I can see the usefulness of single tracks as a promotional tool, where users can download selected tracks to hear the tunes and if they like what they hear, they'd buy the album. Format should NOT matter really.

Boy George just can never get it right...

Can't beat the twisted logic behind that...also there are a lot of albums "leaked" to P2P networks well ahead of release. One I can think of is the "St. Anger" album by Metallica. That one was out on p2p at least a month before release

And two gay shepherds don't quite attract the attention that cowboys do...so they kinda put some spin on the blurbs

The cable and phone companies are both money-grubbers who can't seem to live within their means. they want more, more, MORE money, which only means we will have to pay MORE for accessing our favorite sites. I wish this senator all the luck in getting this madness stopped!

Now why are Arabic sites full of spyware? Is it because of all the crap going down in Iraq?

I can see the scammers will stop at nothing to get their grubby hands on your money. Music downloads are a popular way to get people to part with their money, and scammers know it.
Lets help everyone out by keeping this list growing with KNOWN scam sites so we all can steer clear of them.
