  3. Who else saw this coming? Lucasfilm has announced the hiring of Jon Favreau to write and produce the first live-action Star Wars series for Disney's forthcoming streaming service. Favreau was recently revealed to be voicing a CG character in Solo: A Star Wars Story. He's also previously voiced another character for the animated sereis Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Putting Favreau now behind the scenes of a Star Wars project is also a no-brainer given how successful he's been with other Disney projects. Although he directed the first two Iron Man movies before Marvel Studios was dealing with the Mouse House as a distributor, he was instrumental in building what would become the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a cash cow for the... 8. According to President Trump, you can supposedly reduce all Mexican immigrants to either "drug dealers," "criminals," or "rapists." Yet it seems he conveniently left out one of the actual occupations Mexicans are dominating in America: Best Picture Academy Award-winning directors. After Guillermo del Toro's big win for The Shape of Water on Sunday, his friend and fellow Mexican director Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu had the best response to Donald Trump's ongoing obsession with building his "beautiful wall" (that neither Mexico nor the United States appear willing to pay for). "!Vamos a hacer un muro de puros Oscars!” he reportedly exclaimed to an El Pais reporter. Or, as People translated, “We’re going to build a wall made entirely out of Oscars!” Read more... When it comes to caring for a newborn baby, it's likely that many parents find themselves wishing they had a few extra arms. From feeding schedules to diaper changes to sleeping times, keeping track of your little peanut's growth and progress can get overwhelming. 15. Super Smash Bros. is coming to the Nintendo Switch this year. No, this is not a drill. Nintendo teased a new Super Smash Bros. game coming to the Nintendo Switch during its Nintendo Direct on Thursday. Nintendo didn't include any details about the game other than it will include Inklings from Splatoon and two classic characters Mario and Link. Whether it will be a remaster of the last Super Smash Bros. game (which came out on the Wii U in 2014) or a completely new Smash is unknown. But honestly, it doesn't matter either way. Read more... 18. The mystery of Amelia Earhart's disappearance may finally have been solved, thanks to a new forensics study that shows a very high likelihood that bones found on an island in the South Pacific are those of the trailblazing pilot. In a new study published in Forensic Anthropology, Richard Jantz, professor emeritus of anthropology and director emeritus of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville's Forensic Anthropology Center, determined that the bones found in 1940 on the island of Nikumaroro "have more similarity to Earhart than to 99 percent of individuals in a large reference sample." Jantz used new techniques to revisit the original findings of D. W. Hoodless, the physician who originally examined the bones after their discovery on the island by a British official. Hoodless determined they belonged to a man but the mistake, according to Jantz, was an honest one that's been corrected by advancements in technology. Read more...
