  1. ABC also gave the go-ahead to "Cavemen," a comedy adapted from the Geico insurance commercials.

The network even picked up a comedy called "Cavemen," adapted from the Geico commercials as an offbeat commentary on ethnic prejudice from the perspective of three prehistoric guys trying to make their way in the modern world.

    Oh my!!

    Caveman!!

    Senator Hillary Clinton

    United States Senate

    476 Russell Senate Office Building

    Washington, DC 20510-0001

    Dear Senator Clinton,

As a constituent with an interest in technological innovation and the

future of the Internet, I am writing to ask you to oppose S.256, the

PERFORM Act, introduced in the Senate by Senator Feinstein.

This bill is an attempt by the recording industry to cure short term

contractual issues by placing blanket restrictions on technology,

curtailing the right of consumers to noncommercial recording in their

own homes, and mandating their own restricted radio streaming

    standards.

The bill would forbid future digital radio receivers that allowed

"automated recording, or playback based on specific programs,

time periods, or channels as selected by the user" in digital

radio -- even though such abilities are unrelated to online piracy and

have been a source of innovation in other media, such as TiVo and

other digital video recorders. The bill would also for the first time

compel Internet radio stations -- individuals and companies

broadcasting streaming music online -- to abandon the established MP3

standard in preference for a narrow selection of government-permitted,

incompatible, proprietary formats. Our modern copyright law has always

avoided playing kingmaker with technology. The PERFORM Act would break

this important principle and create a very dangerous precedent.

Last year, the Consumer Electronics Retailers Coalition called PERFORM

"strictly a bill to limit the options of honest people."

Musician Todd Rungren told the Senate Judiciary committee that it was

"yet another futile attempt to turn back the clock" by the

    music industry.

I urge you to defend my right to home recording, and the freedom of

technologists and musicians to innovate new, profitable technological

tools. Please oppose the PERFORM Act.

    Sincerely,

    Mike Dallos

  3. Shot DJ dies after 2-wk. fight

The hip-hop deejay shot 13 times after arguing with thugs in Inwood died yesterday, officials said.

DJ Carl Blaze, 30, whose real name was Carlos Rivera, fought for his life for more than two weeks at Harlem Hospital, but was pronounced dead at 3:52 p.m.

Blaze's weekend broadcasts aired on WWPR-FM Power 105.1 and reached more than 2 million listeners, the station said. "Power 105 and Clear Channel New York are deeply saddened at the loss of Carl Blaze," said station spokeswoman Josefa Paganuzzi. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family."

  4. LONDON - A judge awarded a 40 percent share in the copyright of "A Whiter Shade of Pale," one of the most famous pop songs of all time, to a former organist for Procol Harum.

Lead singer Gary Brooker and lyricist Keith Reid always claimed credit for the hit, which became part of the soundtrack for the hippy "summer of love" of 1967.

But in his ruling, the judge decided that organist Matthew Fisher was entitled to both credit and royalties.

  5. After the recent hacks we had to upgrade the forums as fast as we could. We were not prepared for the upgrade but we did it anyway. One skin is only available for now but this will be solved shortly. New features look excellent and all around, it's a more friendly software.

We will continue to work and solve all the problems but remember that we are regural people with lives outside the PC.

Please PM method77 and point him to the board errors that you see and he is to stupid to see.

    Thanks for everything people :icon_mad:

    Thank you.........thank you!!
