  1. I caught the Warren Haynes concert at Townhall here in Manhattan last week...WHAT A SHOW! I found myself searching the web for tours dates on Gov't Mule/Allmans and Haynes...I can't wait to see him perform again. :strumma:

warren haynes..one of my favourite musicians and a brilliant guitarist (just love his acoustic guitar)...gov`t mule are so good, such a high standard of all round musicianship....i`d love to see them live...their live performances with ben harper playing pedal steel are amazing as well.....

GOV'T MULE CELEBRATES 1,000th CONCERT IN GRAND STYLE... AND KEEPS GOING

(New York, NY) -- Founding Gov't Mule members Warren Haynes (guitar,

vocals) and Matt Abts (drums) with now-permanent bandmates Danny Louis

(keyboards) and Andy Hess (bass) performed Mule's monumental 1,000th concert,

Friday, April 16, at the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco.

The group proved what ten years and a thousand shows sounds like with

    a seamlessly tune-packed, blues-drenched opening set.

The second began with what seemed like a simple appearance by bassist

Phil Lesh on "Lay of the Sunflower." But this soon turned into an

unexpected all Dead set as drummers Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann took

up the unusual two-kit drum set-up, and guitarist Bob Weir and keyboardist

Jeff Chimenti also took the stage. during "Cryptical Envelopment." Gov't

Dead, so to speak, dealt a powerful serving of "The Other One," Wang Dang

Doodle," Sugaree," "Viola Lee Blues" and a "Turn on Your Lovelight" closer.

Only the Mule crew returned for an extraordinarily jammed-out third set,

marked by legendary New Orleans funk group the Meter's Zigaboo Modeliste

sat in on Robert Johnson's "32-20 Blues" and Neville Brothers' "Fiyo on

the Bayou." The show ended the only way it possibly could -- with a rousing

    version of "Soulshine."

The following night, Mule celebrated its 1,001st concert at Beverly Hills'

Wilshire Theatre, welcoming harp player Hook Herrera for an historic reprise

of his appearance at the first-ever Gov't Mule show at Palamino in North

Hollywood, May 12, 1994. For Saturday's event, Herrera

backed the boys on blues classics "She's Nineteen Years Old" and "Ain't

    Superstitious."

Ben Harper also joined the band, adding lap steel and sharing vocal duties

for the Mule original "Lay Your Burden Down" and Howlin' Wolf's

"Smokestack Lightning." Guitarist Marc Ford (Black Crowes, Ben Harper)

shared vocals and dueling guitar licks on Neil Young's "Cortez The

    Killer."

Gov't Mule will continue to celebrate with a Tenth Anniversary two-night

stand at New Orleans' Orpheum Theatre on Friday, April 30 and Saturday,

    May 1.

While honoring the band's massive history, Haynes, Abts, Louis and Hess

continue to look to the future. The foursome is currently assembling the

first Gov't Mule studio album since the addition of Louis and Hess as

permanent band members. It will also be the first release since the extensive

guest-gathering Deep End series and the first proper band-based recorded

effort since founding bassist Allen Woody's passing August 26, 2000. The

recording is scheduled for an autumn 2004 release on ATO Records.

Meanwhile Warren Haynes' solo acoustic album, LIVE AT BONNAROO (ATO Records),

which documents the entire 16-song set Haynes performed at the 2003 Bonnaroo

music festival, will be released June 8, 2004. The release features Mule

favorites "Beautifully Broken" and "Fallen Down" and some exciting covers,

like the glorious version of Radiohead's "Lucky" and a redefining interpretatio

    n of U2's "One."

  4. tried again with firefox..no go...checked out their forums...i`ll see what they say...no problems with ie6 (greenbrowser)...i won`t be changing this avatar for a while anyway...

  5. tried it again and same problem..using greenbrowser (not a bad little tabbed ie clone and a bit more secure, quite fast) until i sort it out.....

  6. If I could count the number of threads here that end up talking about rednecks.....

I had the same problem with my avatar, it would resize it to the size of the new one, but not the image. I cleared my cookies and cache and it worked fine. btw, using Firefox 0.8.

that`s interesting potato...i`ll try again later with firefox and report back to you..

  7. Hey kiwi...is that tattoo related to Twisted Metal at all? Looks similar.

    :psychofun:

don`t think so mate.....it`s a friends arm... i think he saw it on a stock photo site, and got something similar done...we just took a photo and scanned it to my hd..i`ll ask him next time i see him..

  8. It is a mozilla issue.

Whenever I upload a new custom avatar, it simply displays and distorts my existing avatar in the preview.

    Using IE6, it's fine.

What skin I use makes no difference. It's a browser issue.

See what I mean when I say Mozilla isn't an omnipotent nirvana of web browsing?

I just did a test right now, at first, when browsing the boards, my avatar was simply my previous one distorted, but just after I posted this message, it changed to the one I uploaded right before my eyes.

cheers ken....you are correct..it is a mozilla problem, and, as a consequence of my blind alliegance to trend and fashion, i can tell you that this has seriously shaken my faith in human nature..... not to mention mozilla, the icon of which now glares at me suspiciously from the corner of my destop as i browse beatking with ie6 and look hopefully at the latest release of opera..

  9. kiwibank!!  Don't cap Dude!!  He is on my do not cap list.......in semipermanent ink!!

    ok red...he`s safe..for now......

  10. i`m feeling so good about fixing my avatar myself that i`ll neckshot one for ya anyway red..i`ll make sure that this one`s a feminist!!!

  11. got it!!!!...changed over to internet explorer 6 and it worked...might be a mozilla problem since i was using firefox when it stuffed up...oh well...

  12. You a redneck??  I thought that type of stuff only happened to me. :wha':

hey red.. i`d cap a handwringing, dogooder liberal just to get my avatar fixed......

  13. hi guys... i tried to change my avatar and it appears to have misfired...my original avatar is now twice its original size, and i still can`t change it....help...

  14. Yep, having sex with a minor is just wrong thumbsdown

you got that right mate... i have two daughters..one a wilful teenager (as they all can be) and certainly the thought of sexual activity at too young an age is a very great concern to a father like myself. the thought of any hankypanky at all within her natural lifetime is a worry to me!!!...but, of course reality bites and these issues have to be addressed in a balanced and socially acceptable way. but they definitely HAVE to be addressed, and a public forum is a good way to do that.. good on them for taking the initiative..the thing is, you can`t expect your kids to be aware of these things, and you can`t expect your kids to be able to even start to deal with situations that may arise on a day-to-day basis, unless you discuss those things with them (your children) PRIOR to them finding out about those issues in a totally unpleasant and totally life destroying way....
