  15. Thnx , not done yet for today man. okay in my very first suggestion I suggested " Incantation " but gave no info what so ever on them at all,, so heres the wa-bam AUGUST 1989 TO JANUARY 1990 - INCANTATION WAS FORMED BY JOHN MCENTEE AND PAUL LEDNEY AFTER PAUL LEDNEY'S BRIEF TIME IN REVENANT WITH JOHN. BOTH NOT SATISFIED WITH THE DIRECTION REVENANT WAS HEADING, THEY CHOSE TO FORM A GROUP THAT WOULD MORE SUIT THEIR BLASPHEMOUS CONCEPTS AND MUSICAL BRUTALITY. SOON AFTER THAT, ARAGON AMORI JOINED IN ON BASS AND BRETT MACKOWSKI ON GUITAR. THIS LINEUP RECORDED ONE REHEARSAL DEMO IN EARLY JANUARY 1990 WITH EARLY VERSIONS OF UNHOLY MASSACRE AND PROFANATION ALONG WITH A COVER OF THE HELLHAMMER SONG "THIRD OF THE STORM". THE DEMO VERSION OF THESE SONGS HAVE DIFFERENT LYRICAL CONTENT THAN THE LATER RECORDED , MORE FAMILIAR VERSIONS. PAUL, BRETT, AND ARAGON REMAINED IN INCANTATION FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS BEFORE FORMING PROFANATICA. AFTER LEAVING INCANTATION THEY HEADED MORE IN A BLACK METAL DIRECTION , AND PROFANATICA HELPED PAVE THE WAY FOR THE FIRST WAVE OF 90’S BLACK METAL. PAUL WOULD ALSO GO ON TO CREATE HAVOHEJ. MARCH 1990 TO AUGUST 1990 - RONNIE DEO JOINED INCANTATION AFTER FINDING AN AD IN A LOCAL NEWSPAPER CALLED THE EAST COAST ROCKER, POSTED BY JOHN MCENTEE. AFTER A FEW CONVERSATIONS AND HANGING OUT, RONNIE AND JOHN HIT IT OFF AND FELT COMFORTABLE PLAYING IN A BAND TOGETHER .SAL SEIJO, AND PETER BARNEVIC , GUITARIST AND DRUMMER FOR THE BAND DECAY, WERE CONTACTED AFTER SEEING THEIR AD UP IN A LOCAL MUSIC STORE.. AFTER JAMMING TOGETHER, THEY ALL DECIDED TO JOIN FORCES. THIS LINEUP WAS VERY ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT WRITING THE HEAVIEST MOST AGGRESSIVE AND FASTEST, BRUTAL DEATH METAL. .AT THE SAME TIME, JOHN MCENTEE BEGAN PLAYING GUITAR FOR MORTICIAN TO HELP OUT FELLOW FRIEND AND DEATH METAL WARRIOR WILL RAHMER, UNTIL A PERMANENT GUITARIST COULD BE FOUND.. WILLING TO HELP A FRIEND, WILL OFFERED HIS VOCALS IN INCANTATION UNTIL A PERMANENT VOCALIST WAS FOUND. INCANTATION WAS HONORED TO HAVE ONE OF THE BRUTALIST VOCALISTS IN DEATH METAL FRONT THE BAND FOR THIS SHORT TIME. IN JUNE 1990, INCANTATION RECORDED THEIR FIRST OFFICIAL DEMO, ENTITLED DEMO #1 1990.ALSO THE ENTRANTMENT OF EVIL 7"EP WAS RECORDED, AND THESE RECORDINGS DID WAY BETTER THAN EXPECTED BY THE BAND. SAL AND PETE ARE PROBABLY THE MOST UNDERRATED MEMBERS OF INCANTATION, MOST LIKELY DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY LEFT THE BAND SOON AFTER THE RECORDING OF THE DEMO.. INCANTATION HAILS THEM FOR A JOB WELL DONE AUGUST 1990 TO OCTOBER 1990 - AFTER SAL AND PETE LEFT THE BAND, INCANTATION WAS ON THE HUNT FOR A NEW DRUMMER AND SECOND GUITARIST. SO RONNIE AND JOHN PUT ANOTHER AD IN THE ECR, AND SHORTLY AFTER GOT A REPLY FROM JIM ROE. SOON AFTER THEY REHEARSED WITH JIM ON DRUMS, RONNIE AND JOHN THOUGHT JIM FIT IN THE BAND PERFECTLY. A GOOD FRIEND OF THE BAND, ROY FOX, LET THEM KNOW ABOUT A FRIEND OF HIS, BILL VENNER WHO PLAYED GUITAR. THEY WORKED WITH BILL FOR A FEW MONTHS BUT UNFORTUNATELY DID NOT WORK OUT, BUT DID CONTRIBUTE TO THE BAND BY CREATING THE INCANTATION LOGO THAT IS USED TODAY, AND SOME OTHER VARIOUS ARTWORK. INCANTATION PERFORMED THEIR BIGGEST SHOW UP TO DATE (OCT 1990) AT THE DAY OF DEATH FESTIVAL IN BUFFALO NY AS A FOUR PIECE WITH WILL RAHMER ON VOCALS, JOHN MCENTEE ON GUITAR, RONNIE DEO ON BASS, AND JIM ROE ON DRUMS EVEN WITH THE LACK OF A SECOND GUITARIST, THE SHOW WAS AN EXTREME SUCCESS FOR THE BAND NOVEMBER 1990 TO NOVEMBER 1992 - IN EARLY NOVEMBER THE MEMBERS OF INCANTATION WERE ASKING AROUND TO OTHER BANDS IF THEY KNEW OF ANY GUITARISTS TO COMPLETE THE LINEUP OF THE BAND. ONE OF THE BANDS ASKED WITH PUTREFACT, WHO WERE GOOD FRIENDS OF INCANTATION. SOON AFTER, CRAIG PILLARD, GUITARIST OF PUTREFACT, JOINED FORCES WITH INCANTATION AND THINGS WORKED OUT EXCELLENT. THEN WILL DECIDED TO LEAVE THE BAND DUE TO MORTICIANS INCREASING SUCCESS, AND THE NEED TO WORK WITH THEIR NEW GUITARIST ROGER BEAUJARD, WHO REPLACED JOHN MCENTEE AS THEIR FILL IN GUITARIST. THIS NOW LEFT A VOCALIST SPOT OPEN IN INCANTATION, WHICH CRAIG WAS THE OBVIOUS CHOICE WITH HIS ULTRA LOW DEATH GROWLS AND DEMONIC OVERTONES. HIS VOCAL STYLE WORKED OUT IN INCANTATION EXTREMELY WELL. THIS LINEUP ENDED UP RECORDING THE DELIVERANCE OF HORRIFIC PROPHECIES 7" EP (WHICH WAS ORIGINALLY TO BE A SPLIT WITH AMORPHIS----(WHEN THEY WERE DEATH METAL) ALONG WITH THE FIRST FULL LENGTH INCANTATION ALBUM, ONWARD TO GOLGOTHA. THIS WAS WITHOUT A DOUBT ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT LINEUPS DUE TO THE EXCELLENT CHEMISTRY. BETWEEN THE MEMBERS. THIS LINEUP ALSO DID THE FIRST INCANTATION TOUR IN 1991 WITH PHLEGM AND A.C., AND OTHER TOURS WERE TO FOLLOW.. UNFORTUNATELY, RONNIE DECIDED TO LEAVE THE BAND AFTER THEIR FIRST HEADLINING TOUR OF CANADA AND THE US, IN NOVEMBER 1992. DECEMBER 1992 TO AUGUST 1993 - AFTER A SHORT SEARCH, A FRIEND FROM THE BAND CRUCIFIER, DAN KAMP, JOINED THE BAND AS THE NEXT BASS PLAYER. DURING THAT TIME, INCANTATION STARTED WRITING MATERIAL FOR THE NEXT ALBUM. THEY ALSO RECORDED ONE NEW TRACK ENTITLED "EMACIATED HOLY FIGURE" FOR THE " DEATH IS JUST THE BEGINNING 2 "COMPILATION CD. DURING THIS TIME THEY DID TOURS WITH AUTOPSY, VITAL REMAINS AND MORGUE. DUE TO PERSONAL REASONS, JIM ROE DECIDED TO LEAVE THE BAND, AND SOON AFTER DAN KAMP DID AS WELL, LEAVING CRAIG AND JOHN TO FORGE ONWARD. AUGUST 1993 TO JULY 1994 - THIS WAS A VERY DIFFICULT TIME FOR THE BAND, CRAIG AND JOHN KEPT WORKING AT NEW SONGS ALONG WITH SEARCHING FOR A NEW BASS PLAYER AND DRUMMER. AROUND NOVEMBER OF 1993, THEY RECRUITED DAVE NIEDRIST ON BASS, FORMERLY FROM THE BAND NECROSION, AND JOHN BRODY ON DRUMS FROM THE BAND DETERIOROT. THE FUTURE PLANS FOR INCANTATION WERE TO RECORD THE NEW ALBUM IN EARLY 1994, THEN TO TOUR SHORTLY AFTER. DUE TO THIS, JIM ROE WAS ASKED TO DO SESSION DRUMS ON THE RECORDING, SO JOHN BRODY COULD CONCENTRATE ON GETTING READY FOR THE UPCOMING TOUR OF EUROPE, WHICH WOULD BE INCANTATION'S FIRST EUROPEAN TOUR. INCANTATION WAS GRATEFUL TO JIM FOR HELPING OUT ON THE RECORDING, AND TO JOHN BRODY FOR HIS FOCUS ON PREPARING FOR GREAT LIVE PERFORMANCES. THE RECORDING OF "MORTAL THRONE OF NAZARENE" AND THE EUROPEAN TOUR WITH SINISTER AND DEADHEAD WERE SUCCESSFUL FOR THE BAND. IN JULY OF 94, CRAIG PILLARD MADE THE DECISION TO LEAVE THE BAND. JULY 1994 TO AUGUST 1994 - INCANTATION HAD TOURING OBLIGATIONS FOR THE SUMMER, SO DUANE MORRIS, WHO WAS ALREADY COMMITTED TO DO THE TOUR AS THE MERCHANDISE SALESMAN, WAS ASKED TO FILL IN ON GUITAR AND VOCALS. THE TOUR LINEUP WAS DUANE MORRIS ON GUITAR/VOX, JOHN MCENTEE ON GUITAR, DAVE NIEDRIST ON BASS AND JOHN BRODY ON DRUMS. THE TOUR WAS ORIGINALLY TO BE MALEVOLENT CREATION, INCANTATION, ANAL CUNT, MORPHEUS DESCENDS, AFTERLIFE, AND MORGUE. BUT MALEVOLENT ENDED UP CANCELING, SO INCANTATION WAS BOOSTED UP TO HEADLINING. AT THE END OF THE TOUR, JOHN BRODY AND DAVE DECIDED TO CALL IT A DAY WITH THE BAND, AND JOHN MCENTEE DECIDED TO LEAVE HIS HOME STATE OF NEW JERSEY TO GET A FRESH START WITH INCANTATION IN CLEVELAND OHIO WITH DUANE MORRIS. AUGUST 1994 TO OCTOBER 1994 - AFTER MOVING TO CLEVELAND, JOHN AND DUANE JOINED FORCES WITH EX BLOOD OF CHRIST BASS PLAYER RANDY SCOTT.., AND ESCALATION ANGER DRUMMER KYLE SEVERN. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE TOURING LINE UP FOR THE MORTAL THRONE OF NAZARENE ALBUM .BUT, RANDY SCOTT LEFT THE BAND ONLY DAYS BEFORE INCANTATION WAS SCHEDULED TO GO OUT ON TOUR WITH GRAVE, AND FEAR OF GOD. KYLE, DUANE AND JOHN DECIDED TO DO THE TOUR ANYWAY, AFTER ALL THE HARD WORK AND TIME THEY PUT IN PREPARING FOR THIS TOUR. INCANTATION TOURED WITHOUT A BASS PLAYER FOR THE STRING OF DATES. THIS LINEUP WAS DETERMINED TO MAKE THE BEST OF IT, AND NOT DISAPPOINT THE FANS OF THE BAND. NOVEMBER 1994 TO AUGUST 1995 - AFTER THE GRAVE AND FEAR OF GOD TOUR, IN EARLY 1995, INCANTATION RECRUITED MIKE DONNELY FROM THE BAND DISGORGED, ON BASS. MIKE ONLY HAD A FEW DAYS TO LEARN ALL THE SONGS ON THE SET BEFORE INCANTATION LEFT FOR THEIR FIRST TOUR OF MEXICO WITH IMMOLATION AND ACID BATH. MIKE DONNELY DID A GREAT JOB LEARNING THE SONGS AND DID EXCELLENT ON THE TOUR. AFTER THE MEXICAN TOUR, DUANE MORRIS BRIEFLY LEFT THE BAND, RETURNING SHORTLY BEFORE THE NEXT TOUR IN LATE MAY. THIS WAS TO BE A 3 MONTH EXTENSIVE TOUR OF THE US AND CANADA, WITH SHOWS ALSO IN MEXICO. BUT HALFWAY THROUGH THE TOUR, DUANE DECIDED TO LEAVE THE BAND, SO INCANTATION ASKED DANIEL CORCHADO, A GOOD FRIEND FROM THE BANDS CENOTAPH, THE CHASM, TO FILL IN ON VOX AND GUITAR FOR THE REST OF THE TOUR DATES. WITH REGRET SOME OF THE DATES HAD TO BE CANCELLED, BUT INCANTATION WAS EXTREMELY THANKFUL TO DANIEL FOR HELPING OUT AT THIS TIME. AT THE END OF THE TOUR, DANIEL WENT BACK TO MEXICO, AND MIKE DONNELY MADE THE DECISION TO PART WAYS WITH THE BAND. AUGUST 1995 TO DECEMBER 1995 - KYLE AND JOHN DECIDED TO HANG LOW FOR A FEW MONTHS. THEY DID NOT WANT TO RUSH TO TRY TO FIND NEW MEMBERS FOR THE BAND AT THIS TIME. KYLE AND JOHN SPENT THIS TIME FOCUSING ON WRITING NEW MATERIAL. DECEMBER 1995 TO APRIL 1996 - AT THIS TIME, INCANTATION PLANNED TO DO A PROMO DEMO. KYLE AND JOHN ASKED OLD FRIENDS, MARY CIULLO BASS PLAYER OF PRIME EVIL, MIKE SAEZ, GUITARIST FOR DEATHRUNE/MORTICIAN, AND WILL RAHMER OF MORTICIAN TO HELP OUT IN THIS PROJECT. THE PROMO DEMO INCLUDED 3 NEW SONGS THAT WOULD APPEAR ON LATER INCANTATION RECORDINGS. THE SONGS ARE ENTITLED.."THE FORSAKEN MOURNING OF ANGELIC ANGUISH"...NOCTURNAL KINGDOM OF DEMONIC ENLIGHTENMENT"...AND "IMPENDING DIABOLICAL CONQUEST". ALSO WITH THIS TEMPORARY LINEUP, THERE WERE 3 LIVE PERFORMANCES, ONE IN NEW YORK, ONE IN CLEVELAND OHIO, AND ONE IN ERIE PENNSYLVANIA. ALL THE SHOWS WERE SUCCESSFUL AND A BLASPHEMOUS EXPERIENCE. INCANTATION HAILS MARY, MIKE, AND WILL FOR THEIR FRIENDSHIP AND SUPPORT DURING THIS TIME. MARCH 1996 TO NOVEMBER 1996 - A FRIEND OF WILL RAHMER’S, KEVIN HUGHES, FORMERLY OF MALIGNANCY, JOINED THE BAND ON BASS AT THIS TIME. SOON AFTER, A FRIEND FROM THE PITTSBURGH BASED BAND ROTTREVORE, KNOWN FOR THEIR TRACTOR PULL, SPACE SHUTTLE LAUNCHING ULTRA LOW END CRUSHING STYLE OF DEATH METAL, NATHAN ROSSI, JOINED THE BAND ON GUITAR AND VOCALS. THIS LINEUP DID A LOT OF REHEARSING OVER THE SUMMER, BEFORE DOING A US TOUR WITH MORTICIAN AND ANAL CUNT. UPON COMPLETING THE TOUR, NATHAN ROSSI LEFT THE BAND AND WAS NEVER HEARD FROM AGAIN. DECEMBER 1996 TO APRIL 1997 - BY EARLY 1997, INCANTATION WAS PREPARING TO RECORD "THE FORSAKEN MOURNING OF ANGELIC ANGUISH" MCD. KYLE, KEVIN AND JOHN DECIDED TO ASK CRAIG PILLARD, THE VOCALIST FOR THE FIRST 2 INCANTATION ALBUMS, TO DO SESSION VOCALS ON THE RECORDING. CRAIG WAS ENTHUSIASTIC TO DO SO. THINGS WENT SO WELL THAT THEY WORKED WITH HIM A FEW MONTHS LATER ON "THE TRIBUTE TO THE GOAT" CD, WHICH ALSO INCLUDED MIKE SAEZ SESSIONING AS A SECOND GUITARIST. AROUND THIS TIME, KEVIN HUGHES PARTED WAYS WITH THE BAND. BONUS TRACKS WERE THEN RECORDED FOR "THE FORSAKEN MOURNING OF ANGELIC ANGUISH" RELAPSE VERSION, PRODUCED BY DESMOND TOLHURST OF MALIGNANCY/MORTICIAN. SEVERAL MUSICIANS WERE INVOLVED IN THIS RECORDING. KYLE SEVERN AND JOHN MCENTEE WORKED ALONGSIDE DANIEL CORCHADO ON BASS, ALONG WITH THE RETURN OF CRAIG PILLARD ONCE AGAIN ON VOCALS, UNLEASHING INCANTATION’S PAST AND FUTURE TALENTS. MAY 1997 TO JULY 1997 - MAY 1997 SAW THE INCLUSION OF DANIEL CORCHADO AS SESSION BASS/VOCALS FOR 3 MONTHS OF TOURING .ALSO MIKE SAEZ WAS ASKED ONCE AGAIN TO SESSION IN AS SECOND GUITARIST FOR THE TOUR AS WELL. THE FIRST LEG OF THE TOUR WAS IN THE US WITH VITAL REMAINS , THE SECOND PART STARTED IN JUNE, AS PART OF THE REPULSIVE TOUR IN EUROPE THAT INCLUDED AVULSED, DEEDS OF FLESH, AND ADREMELECH. THE THIRD LEG OF THE TOUR WAS A CONTINUATION OF THE US VITAL REMAINS TOUR, BUT UNFORTUNATELY, MIKE SAEZ WAS UNABLE TO DO THE LAST PART OF THIS TOUR, DUE TO OTHER NON BAND RELATED COMMITMENTS. THIS BROUGHT UP THE SWITCHING OF DANIEL FROM BASS TO THE SECOND GUITARIST, AND THE FINAL LEG OF THE TOUR WAS DONE WITHOUT BASS FROM LACK OF TIME TO REPLACE MIKE.. THE SHOWS STILL WENT OVER VERY SUCCESSFULLY. AUGUST 1997 TO MARCH 1998 - AFTER THE SUCCESSFUL TOURING FOR "THE FORSAKEN MOURNING OF ANGELIC ANGUISH" EP, DANIEL DECIDED TO BECOME A PERMANENT MEMBER OF THE BAND. DURING THIS TIME, KYLE ,DANIEL AND JOHN SPENT MOST OF THEIR TIME PREPARING FOR THE NEXT INCANTATION RELEASE, WHICH WAS RECORDED IN DECEMBER 1997. INCANTATION DID A FEW SELECT SHOWS BEFORE THE RELEASE OF "DIABOLICAL CONQUEST". WITH THE RELEASE OF DIABOLICAL CONQUEST, THE SUCCESS OF INCANTATION WAS PUSHED TO A HIGHER LEVEL, WHILE STILL KEEPING THE INTEGRITY THAT THEIR MUSIC HAD ALWAYS POSSESSED. APRIL 1998 TO JUNE 1998 - AFTER THE RECORDING OF "DIABOLICAL CONQUEST", ROB YENCH FROM THE BAND MORPHEUS DESCENDS, AND BRIMSTONE, JOINED THE BAND ON BASS. MORPHEUS DESCENDS, AND BRIMSTONEINCANTATION WITH THIS LINE UP OF DANIEL, KYLE , ROB AND JOHN, INCANTATION WAS A VERY STRONG UNIT, AND TOURED FOR DIABOLICAL CONQUEST WITH BANDS SUCH AS DEFILED, NILE, VADER AND MORBID ANGEL. UNFORTUNATELY, MIDWAY THROUGH THE MORBID ANGEL/VADER TOUR, DANIEL CORCHADO MADE THE DECISION TO PART WAYS WITH THE BAND TO CONCENTRATE ON HIS PROJECT, THE CHASM, WHICH SUCCESSFULLY PLAYED THE MILWAUKEE METALFEST IN JULY. DANIEL RELOCATED TO CHICAGO WHERE THE CHASM IS NOW BASED. INCANTATION HAILS DANIEL FOR ALL HIS TIME AND EFFORT IN THE BAND AND WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT THE DEATHCULT AND THE CHASM. JULY 1998 TO AUGUST 1998 - SINCE DANIEL WAS BOOKED TO PLAY THE MILWAUKEE METALFEST WITH THE CHASM, INCANTATION HAD TO RECRUIT A GUITARIST/VOCALIST TO TAKE HIS PLACE FOR A FEW DATES ON THE TOUR. TOM STEVENS, FORMERLY OF NOKTURNAL, MORPHEUS DESCENDS AND BRIMSTONE WAS ASKED TO FILL IN FOR THE TEMPORARY POSITION. SO AFTER DANIEL’S DEPARTURE MIDWAY THROUGH THE TOUR, TOM STEPPED UP TO THE SPOT, AND DID AN EXCELLENT JOB FRONTING THE BAND FOR THE COMPLETION OF THE TOUR. BY THE END OF THE TOUR, TOM HAD BECOME A PERMANENT MEMBER. FOR THE CANADIAN LEG OF THE MORBID ANGEL TOUR, KYLE WAS UNABLE TO CROSS OVER INTO THE COUNTRY, SO A LONG TIME FRIEND OF THE BAND, CHRIS DORA, OF SOULLESS, FORMERLY OF DECREPIT, INTEGRITY, PICKED UP THE DRUMMER SLOT WITH ONLY A FEW SHORT PRACTICE SESSIONS. CHRIS EXECUTED THE SHOWS EXTREMELY WELL. INCANTATION IS VERY THANKFUL TO CHRIS FOR STEPPING UP IN THE TIME OF NEED. IN AN UNFORTUNATE CIRCUMSTANCE, RETURNING HOME FROM THE LAST DATE IN DALLAS TEXAS, KYLE AND JOHN WERE INVOLVED IN A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT WITH THE VAN FLIPPING OVER ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE TRAILER EXPLODING CAUSING EQUIPMENT TO BE SPEWED ALONG THE HIGHWAY. ALTHOUGH NON FATAL. THE INJURIES SUSTAINED TO KYLE AND JOHN WERE A MINOR SETBACK TO THE BAND .SOON AFTER THE ACCIDENT, KYLE MADE THE DECISION TO LEAVE THE BAND FOR NUMEROUS REASONS THAT WERE COMPLETELY NON BAND RELATED. KYLE SEVERN AND HIS MUSTACHE ARE GREATLY MISSED BY INCANTATION, AND IS THANKED FOR ALL HIS YEARS OF HARD WORK AND DEDICATION TO THE BAND. HE HAS JUST JOINED VITAL REMAINS!! INCANTATION WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT KYLE IN WHATEVER MUSIC PROJECTS HE DECIDES TO PURSUE. SEPTEMBER 1998 TO NOVEMBER 1998 - INCANTATION WAS NOW SEARCHING FOR A REPLACEMENT DRUMMER FOR KYLE. FINALLY IN OCTOBER CLAY LYTLE, FROM SOUTH CAROLINA, WAS RECOMMEND BY DALLAS OF NILE, WHO PLAYED WITH HIM IN THE BAND FATAL AGGRESSION. WITH THIS LINE UP OF TOM, ROB, CLAY AND JOHN, INCANTATION PREPARED FOR THE FIRST CHILEAN METALFEST, WHICH ALSO INCLUDED DEATH, CANNIBAL CORPSE, AND DORSO.. THIS SHOW WAS VERY SUCCESSFUL AS INCANTATIONS BIGGEST SHOW TO DATE, WITH 7000 METAL-STARVED MANIACS SHOWING THEIR SUPPORT. RETURNING FROM CHILE, CLAY DEPARTED THE BAND. DECEMBER 1998 TO FEBRUARY 1999 - AROUND THIS TIME, JOHN MCENTEE DECIDED TO MOVE INCANTATIONS HOME BASE TO JOHNSTOWN PENNSYLVANIA. SOON AFTER, JOHN BEGAN TO WORK WITH A LOCAL AREA DRUMMER RICK "SLIM" BOAST., OF NECROTOMIE. THE BAND VIGOROUSLY PREPARED FOR THE UPCOMING DIABOLICAL EXTERMINATION US TOUR. THIS TOUR, WITH KRISTIN AND ANGEL CORPSE, WAS AN EXTREME SUCCESS FOR ALL THE BANDS INVOLVED. INCANTATION WAS HONORED TO BE PART OF ONE OF THE MOST BRUTAL TOURS IN RECENT YEARS. ONCE AGAIN, INCANTATION WAS ON THE SEARCH FOR A DRUMMER DUE TO RICK’S DEPARTURE FROM THE BAND AFTER THE US TOUR. MARCH 1999 - IN MARCH INCANTATION HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY THE 1ST MARCH METAL MELTDOWN IN ASBURY PARK NEW JERSEY. AS A FAVOR TO THE BAND, CHRIS DORA FILLED IN ONCE AGAIN ON DRUMS. DOING A GREAT JOB AND MAKING THE SHOW SUCCESSFUL FOR INCANTATION. APRIL1999 TO JULY 1999 - INCANTATION THEN RECRUITED MARK PERRY OF TEXAS, FROM THE BAND DEATH OF MILLIONS, AS A DRUMMER FOR THE NEXT SCHEDULED TOUR "DIABOLICAL CANADIAN CONQUEST", WHICH STARTED IN MID APRIL. THIS LINEUP OF TOM, ROB, MARK AND JOHN SPEWED FORTH BLASPHEMY ON INCANTATIONS FIRST FULL HEADLINING TOUR OF CANADA. THERE WERE ALSO A FEW US DATES ON THIS TOUR INCLUDING PORTLAND, DENVER, ST LOIUS, AND CHICAGO. UPON THE COMPLETION OF THE TOUR, MARK PERRY RETURNED TO TEXAS TO HIS ORIGINAL BAND DEATH OF MILLIONS. IN JULY 1999 UNFORTUNATELY, INCANTATION AND TOM STEVENS PARTED WAYS. TOM IS CURRENTLY PURSUING OTHER MUSICAL PROJECTS, TO LOOK OUT FOR IN THE NEAR FUTURE. AROUND THIS TIME, JOHN MCENTEE WAS ASKED BY LONGTIME FRIENDS AND METAL WARRIORS IMMOLATION, TO FILL IN ON GUITARS FOR THEIR SUMMER/FALL TOURING FOR "FAILURES FOR GODS". THIS INCLUDED THE MILWAUKEE METALFEST, AND THEIR EUROPEAN AS WELL AS CANADIAN AND US TOUR. IT WAS A UNHOLY EXPERIENCE FOR JOHN TO IMMOLATE HIS SOUL WITH IMMOLATION. AUGUST 1999 TO JUNE 2000 - ONCE AGAIN CHRIS DORA WAS ASKED TO FILL IN ON DRUMS FOR SHOWS IN ARGENTINA. ALSO NEEDED WAS A GUITARIST/VOCALIST., SO MIKE SAEZ, WHO HAD HELPED THE BAND IN THE PAST, WAS ASKED TO ONCE AGAIN LEND INCANTATION HIS SERVICES. THE ARGENTINA SHOWS WERE ANOTHER BLASPHEMOUS GROUNDBREAKING EXPERIENCE FOR THE BAND, SATISFYING A LOT OF OLD AND NEW FANS OF THE BAND IN THAT COUNTRY, ALONG WITH TRAVELERS FROM MANY OTHER COUNTRIES IN SOUTH AMERICA. AFTER THESE SHOWS, MIKE DECIDED HE WOULD LIKE TO BE A PERMANENT AND COMMITTED MEMBER TO THE BAND. SO MIKE, ROB AND JOHN STARTED WORKING TOWARDS THE NEXT INCANTATION RELEASE ENTITLED "THE INFERNAL STORM". IN NOVEMBER 1999, THEY ENTERED MARS RECORDING COMPOUND ALONG WITH ONE OF DEATH METALS MOST RESPECTED DRUMMERS, DAVE CULROSS, OF MALEVOLENT CREATION, SUFFOCATION, DISGORGED, AS A SESSION DRUMMER. THE INFERNAL STORM WAS RELEASED IN MAY OF 2000 WITH 8 SONGS OF BRUTAL PUNISHING BLASPHEMOUS DEATH METAL 100% INCANTATION STYLE. TOURING FOR THE INFERNAL STORM BEGAN IN MAY ON THE INFERNAL STORM ASSAULT 2000 TOUR. RICHARD CHRISTY OF DEATH, CONTROL DENIED AND BURNING INSIDE FILLED IN ON DRUMS FOR THOSE STRING OF DATES. INCANTATION THANKS RICHARD FOR BEING A KILLER DRUMMER AND AN AWESOME FRIEND TO THE BAND!! AUGUST 2000 FEBRUARY 2001 - AROUND THIS TIME FOUND THE BAND REJOINING FORCES WITH PREVIOUS LONGTIME DEDICATED MEMBER KYLE SEVERN ON DRUMS. INCANTATION FEELS VERY COMPLETE WITH THE READDITION OF KYLE. AFTER MONTHS OF REHEARSING WITH KYLE, INCANTATION ENGAGED ON A NORTH AMERICAN TOUR WITH NILE AND IMPALED. THE RESPONSE ON THE TOUR WAS OVERWHELMING. MOST OF THE WINTER WAS SPENT WRITING AND REHEARSING SONGS FOR THE NEXT INCANTATION RELEASE. FEBRUARY 2001 TO MAY 2001 - INCANTATION IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE SPLIT BETWEEN INCANTATION AND RELAPSE RECORDS. THEY WERE BOTH ABLE TO COME TO A MUTUAL AGREEMENT TO RELEASE THE BAND FROM FUTURE OBLIGATIONS TO THE RECORD COMPANY. A MORE SUITABLE LABEL, NECROPOLIS RECORDS, IS NOW THE NEW HOME FOR INCANTATION. THIS CHANGE HELPS INCANTATION FEEL MORE AT HOME WITH A MORE METAL ORIENTED LABEL. IN MARCH THE BAND GEARED UP TO GO ON THE ROAD WITH LONGTIME FRIENDS IMMOLATION. THIS WAS A HIGHLY ANTICIPATED TOUR AS FANS HAD LONG AWAITED THESE TWO BANDS TO UNITE. ALSO INCANTATIONS METAL BROTHERS GOATWHORE WERE ON THE BILL. ON THE SECOND NIGHT OF THE TOUR IN QUEENS NEW YORK, THE BANDS TOUR VAN WAS BROKEN INTO AND MOST OF THE TOUR MERCHANDISE WAS STOLEN. THIS WAS A SMALL SETBACK IN COMPARISON TO THE EVENTS THE HAPPENED DIRECTLY AFTER THE INCANTATION SET. IN SHORT, GUITARIST/VOCALIST MIKE SAEZ WAS STABBED IN THE BICEP WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP A FIGHT BETWEEN TWO INDIVIDUALS. THE INJURY WAS SEVERE ENOUGH THAT INCANTATION HAD TO UNFORTUNATELY DROP OFF THE TOUR. IT TOOK SEVERAL WEEKS, BUT MIKE HAS MADE A FULL RECOVERY. INCANTATION WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL FRIENDS/FANS/SUPPORTERS FOR ALL THE EMAILS AND LETTERS SHOWING CONCERN. THE END OF MAY BROUGHT INCANTATION BACK FROM A VERY SUCCESSFUL TOUR OF BRAZIL. INCANTATION IS PROUD TO BE THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL DEATH METAL BAND TO DO SUCH AN EXTENSIVE TOUR OF BRAZIL. THE BAND IS ALSO PROUD TO HAVE PLAYED LIVE FOR THEIR LONGTIME BRAZILIAN SUPPORTERS. INCANTATION IS CURRENTLY PUTTING THE FINISHING TOUCHES ON THEIR 5TH FULL LENGTH RELEASE AND DEBUT RELEASE ON NECROPOLIS RECORDS, WHICH IS SCHEDULED FOR RELEASE IN THE FALL 2001. May 2001 TO JANUARY 2002 - UPON RETURN FROM BRAZIL ROB YENCH LEFT THE BAND, GIVING INCANTATION THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH JOE LOMBARD ON BASS. JOE LEARNED ALL THE SONGS FOR THE UPCOMING NEW ALBUM ALONG WITH THE COMPLETE SET FOR THE SCHEDULED EUROPEAN HEADLINING DATES. INCANTATION RETURNED TO MARS RECORDING COMPOUND TO START THE TRACKING FOR THEIR 5TH FULL LENGTH RELEASE. IN AUGUST INCANTATION TRAVELED TO EUROPE FOR A STRING OF HEADLINING DATES INCLUDING HEADLINING THE PARTY SAN FESTIVAL IN GERMANY. THIS WAS INCANTATIONS MOST SUCCESSFUL EUROPEAN ASSAULT TO DATE. September 2002 TO THE PRESENT - IN THE FALL OF 2001 MIKE SAEZ LEFT THE BAND DUE TO FAMILY ISSUES. SO FOR THE "UPHEAVAL OF BLASPHEMY" U.S. TOUR IN MARCH 2002 WITH CANNIBAL CORPSE AND DARK FUNERAL,INCANTATION RECRUITED BELIAL FROM LETHAL PRAYER TO FILL IN ON VOCALS AND SECOND GUITAR. IN AUGUST THE BAND RECRUITED VINCENT CROWLEY FROM THE LEGENDARY ACHERON / WOLVEN SOCIETY TO HELP OUT ON THE SUMMER TOUR COMMITMENTS FOR THE "SUMMER OF BLASPHEMY" U.S. / EUROPEAN TOUR. BOTH BELIAL AND VINCENT DID A GREAT JOB AND WE WISH THEM THE BEST OF LUCK IN THE FUTURE. SINCE THE RETURN FROM THE "SUMMER OF BLASPHEMY" EUROPEAN TOUR JOHN MCENTEE FOUNDING MEMBER WAS FINALLY READY TO TAKE OVER VOCAL DUTIES (AFTER ABOUT A YEAR OF PREPARATIONS). WITH THE GUITAR HELP FROM LOUIS LOMBARDOZZI,INCANTATION AND FUNERUS DID A STRING OF DATES IN MEXICO IN LATE JANUARY, EARLY FEBRUARY 2003. THE REACTION WAS PHENOMENAL. IN JUNE WITH THIS LINE UP, INCANTATION ALSO DID THEIR FIRST TOUR OF AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND. THIS WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE FOR THE BAND AND THE REACTION FROM THE DEATH METAL SUPPORTERS WAS ASTOUNDING. THE BAND DID GET INTO A AUTO ACCIDENT WHILE ON THERE WAY TO THE PRE-BLOODLUST III SHOW IN SYDNEY. DUE TO THE ACCIDENT KYLE SUFFERED INJURIES TO HIS CHEST AND WAS NOT ABLE TO PREFORM THE BLOODLUST FEST III. SO DAVE HALEY, DRUMMER FROM PSYCROPTIC (THEIR AUSTRALIAN TOURING MATES) LEARNED 3 INCANTATION SONGS THE DAY OF THE SHOW. ALSO GRYPHON OF ASTRIAAL (WHO PLAYED A COVER OF "THE IBEX MOON" IN A PREVIOUS BAND) WAS ABLE TO HELP OUT ON DRUMS. SO THE BAND WAS ABLE TO PLAY 4 SONGS FOR ALL THE SICK DEATH METAL HEADS THAT NIGHT. INCANTATION WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THE BANDS ON THE BLOODLUST III FEST FOR THEIR SUPPORT AND UNDERSTANDING. THE BAND ALSO APOLOGIZES THAT THEY WERN’T ABLE TO PLAY A FULL SET AT THE SHOW DUE TO THE UNFORTUNATE SITUATION. IN AUGUST INCANTATION DID A MINI TOUR OF MOSTLY THE U.S. WEST COAST ENTITLED THE "ROTTING WITH YOU CHRIST" TOUR WITH FUNERUS AND DISGORGE. UPON THE RETURN OF THE TOUR INCANTATION DECIDED TO KEEP THE BAND AS A 3 PIECE AND FIND SESSION MEMBERS FOR FILL IN ON GUITAR FOR THE TIME BEING UNTIL THEY FEEL THEY HAVE FOUND THE RIGHT 4TH MEMBER. JOHN, KYLE AND JOE HAVE BEEN WORKING DILIGENTLY ON NEW SONGS FOR THEIR 6TH STUDIO ALBUM AS YET UNTITLED, ALONG WITH GEARING UP FOR ANOTHER SOUTH AMERICAN ASSAULT! INCANTATION WOULD LIKE TO HAIL ALL ITS PAST AND PRESENT MEMBERS FOR KEEPING THE INTEGRITY OF THE BAND AND STAYING TRUE THROUGHOUT THE PAST DECADE FULL OF TRENDS THAT CAME AND WENT. sorry for all the caps,, thats just the way I found it,,, picturs to come soon

Happy birthday to you happy birthday to you happy birthday dear fuckin Beatking you fuckin rock and everyone wants to be like you !!!!!!!! okay the birthday song is out of the way. well, Im finally a A+ certifed computer tech YEY ! Im ganna be somewhat rich biotch !!!! also I have not had a beer for a mounth. and my sleep walking hasent happend for 2 weeks ( last time I sleeped walk I woke up on my front lawn ) but ayways thats not what this thread is about now is it ?!?!?!?! its about heavy fuckin metal MAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anyways no suggestion in this post,, just some good info on Cannibal Corpse so here it is From Buffalo, New York comes a death metal monster that has yet to be tamed: Cannibal Corpse. Comprised of George ‘Corpsegrinder’ Fisher, Alex Webster, Paul Mazurkiewicz, Jack Owen, and Pat O’Brien, the quintet has been ravaging the landscape with picturesque stories of death and many processes by which death can be achieved. At first glance, it seems morbid and repulsive. Ironically, that is just what Cannibal Corpse has aimed for since its birth. Beginning in 1989, Cannibal Corpse was formed from the remnants of three local Buffalo bands, Tirant Sin, Beyond Death, and Leviathan. The original lineup, consisting of vocalist Chris Barnes, guitarists Jack Owen and Bob Rusay, bassist Alex Webster, and drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz, recorded a self-titled demo. Unbeknownst to them, they were about to be signed to Metal Blade Records to create the primitive yet uninhibited 1990 release, ‘Eaten Back to Life’, produced by Scott Burns (Sepultura, Deicide). Although it wasn’t exactly what you’d call a best-seller, it certainly got their names in the public with songs like ‘A Skull Full of Maggots’ and ‘Born in a Casket'. Next came 1991’s ‘Butchered at Birth’, an album with a refined (but still fairly primitive) death metal sound. Songs such as ‘Meat Hook Sodomy’, ‘Covered With Sores’, and ‘Vomit the Soul’ grabbed the attention of the average passer-by…that is, if they weren’t thrown off by the ultra-violent album cover by none other than Vincent Locke of Dead World Comics. 1991 was also the first year Cannibal Corpse went on tour, eventually spreading their music to Europe (where they weren’t well received by many countries). A year later, Cannibal Corpse released ‘Tomb of the Mutilated’, a death metal classic sporting perhaps the most popular Cannibal Corpse song, ‘Hammer Smashed Face’. Other classics, including ‘I Cum Blood’, ‘Addicted to Vaginal Skin’, and ‘The Cryptic Stench’, as well as yet another offensive album cover by Vincent Locke put this album at the top of the death metaller’s must-have list. ‘Hammer Smashed Face’ later appeared in the soundtrack to the 1994 film ‘Ace Ventura: Pet Detective’, a decision made by Jim Carrey himself (who turns out to be a big Corpse fan). A note about the first three albums: Germany has banned Cannibal Corpse from playing material from the first three albums. In 1993, Cannibal Corpse released their ‘Hammer Smashed EP’, containing ‘Hammer Smashed Face’, and two unreleased cover songs, ‘The Exorcist’ by Possessed and ‘Zero the Hero’ by Black Sabbath. 1994’s ‘The Bleeding’, Cannibal Corpse’s best-selling album, brought in a new era, as founding guitarist Bob Rusay was fired from the group and replaced by Malevolent Creation guitarist Rob Barrett. Barrett joined the group as a welcome and contributing addition to the death metal team, helping record malicious classics to include ‘Staring Through the Eyes of the Dead’, ‘Fucked With a Knife’, and ‘Stripped, Raped and Strangled’, which contests to be the most popular Cannibal Corpse song against ‘Hammer Smashed Face’. Next, in 1995, Cannibal Corpse vocalist Chris Barnes was fired due to ‘musical differences,’ and replaced by former Monstrosity vocalist George ‘Corpsegrinder’ Fisher on the band’s follow-up to ‘The Bleeding’, entitled ‘Vile’ (originally entitled ‘Created to Kill’). Corpsegrinder made an instant impression on the death metal audience with the 9 second scream heard in the album’s opener, ‘Devoured by Vermin’. ‘Vile’ is proof that Cannibal Corpse’s fate doesn’t rest on one person’s talents alone. In 1997, after recording the Monolith of Death Tour VHS, Rob Barrett decided to leave the band to pursue other fields of interest, and was replaced by Nevermore guitarist Pat O’Brien to record their 1998 release, ‘Gallery of Suicide’. ‘Gallery’ also marks the first time recording without long-time Cannibal Corpse producer Scott Burns, who was replaced by Jim Morris (Iced Earth, Morbid Angel). Labeled as their most technical album, ‘Gallery’ retains the tried-but-true standards of relentless pounding, intense riffs, and guttural vocals that keep the fans coming back for more. O’Brien proves to be a powerful force, marking his abilities in the song ‘From Skin to Liquid,’ the album’s instrumental track. The following year, 1999, was the year of ‘Bloodthirst’, their first album working with producer Colin Richardson (Fear Factory, Carcass). This was the first time in five years that Cannibal Corpse had consistent band members spanning two albums. The feverish pace of ‘Dead Human Collection’, the adrenal flood created by ‘Pounded into Dust’, and the skull-crushing symphony ‘Unleashing the Bloodthirsty’ caught the attention of more death metal fans across the globe. In 2000, Cannibal Corpse released their second live recording, entitled ‘Live Cannibalism’. A compilation of most of their classic tracks played at two venues (the Rave in Milwaukee, WI and Indianapolis, IN), Colin Richardson managed to produce one of the finest raw live albums ever recorded, capturing the true essence of a brutal Cannibal Corpse show. Come 2002 and Cannibal Corpse returned with producer Neil Kernon (Queensryche, Hall and Oates) to release ‘Gore Obsessed’, another violent episode in the quintet’s saga. Opening with the vehement, impulsive ‘Savage Butchery’, entrancing the listener with the ferocity of ‘Pit of Zombies’, and closing the album with the Metallica classic ‘No Remorse,’ ‘Gore Obsessed’ is a whirlwind of violence and bloodshed, accounting methods of one’s own demise (‘Hung and Bled’) to unconscious mass murder (‘Grotesque’). Later that year, Cannibal Corpse released the six-song ‘Worm Infested’ EP featuring two unreleased original songs (‘Systematic Elimination’ and ‘Worm Infested’), ‘The Undead Will Feast’, and three cover songs: ‘Demon’s Night’ by Accept, ‘Confessions’ by Possessed, and ‘No Remorse’ by Metallica. ‘15 Year Killing Spree,’ released in 2003, is a collection of some of their best material over the years, a CD featuring demos and cover songs, a DVD of live shows and recording sessions, and a bundle of other goodies (to include a comic based on ‘Unleashing the Bloodthirsty’ drawn by Vincent Locke) to satisfy the Cannibal Corpse fanatic’s palate for death metal. Cannibal Corpse’s latest effort, ‘The Wretched Spawn’ was released in February 2004, again with producer Neil Kernon. Perhaps the most anticipated of the CC releases, ‘Wretched’ delivered powerful imagery coupled with fast, intense musicianship in many of the albums’ tracks, namely ‘Severed Head Stoning,’ ‘Frantic Disembowelment,’ and ‘They Deserve to Die.’ They also struck a chord or two with two of the slower tracks on the album, ‘Festering in the Crypt’ and the title track, not to mention the album’s single ‘Decency Defied.’ Shortly after the first U.S. Tour of the Wretched, founding member/guitarist Jack Owen decided it was time to say goodbye, and was replaced on the following tours by Jeremy Turner (Origin). Now Corpse fans are waiting to see whether Jeremy will continue to play with CC in the years to come or if someone else will enter the fray. In any case, there’s sure to be another chapter of brutality for the masters of death metal - Cannibal Corpse! 22. this isent metal,,, but since I dont see a punk forum ( and why no punk forum ?) todays band is " Crass " best album is ' Feeding of the 5000 ' I dont like any Crass excpt for the 78-79 era The Feeding of the Five Thousand is a reissue of the group's debut EP on Small Wonder. Fitting eighteen songs on a 12-inch 45, it is typical of Crass' shock tactics: the first cut is a sneering recitation of "Asylum," an irreverent dismissal of Christ as anybody's lord over droning guitar feedback. The rest is mostly raw faster-louder punk spiked with protest demagoguery, four-letter words and harsh Cockney ranting. Lords of English punk's extreme left, the Essex-based Crass didn't just sing about anarchy in the UK — they did something about it. Formed in 1977 as a band much in the Sex Pistols/Sham 69 image, they saw themselves as a more righteous alternative to those bands, and soon evolved into an anarchist commune, a broadsheet publisher, several record labels and an information service. Crass espouse all the proper causes — anti-war, anti-nuclear, feminism, flushing out hypocrisy in organized religion — with blood-curdling vehemence on their own records and on the numerous singles and albums by likeminded bands they've released (or inspired). The group was frequently embroiled in legal battles with various government agencies but, in an era largely typified by apathy, Crass stands as a remarkably successful model of dead-serious political commitment in rock.
  23. hope you all like ohh and "metal has NO POP inless the amp blows up"
  24. well what the hell, here one more CATHEDRAL,, good album, "Forest Of Equilibrium " Cathedral officially found it's start late 1989,when founder members Lee Dorrian and Mark (Griff) Griffiths were discussing their love of bands like Trouble, Pentagram, Sabbath ,St.Vitus , Melvins, Candlemass etc. The setting was at a Carcass show in Cardiff, where Griff was roadie and in charge off the projections of gore for that band. After more than several beers the pair came to the conclusion that they should form a band in the vein of their heroes and thus the idea was born. The next morning the pair awoke with painful hangovers and the nagging question – “Ok, we're gonna form a Doom band, but who the hell is gonna play in it besides us??” Death Metal was almost reaching its peak at this time and not too many people (let alone musicians) shared the pairs love of all things slow. Griff had been editor of exclusively Doom Metal fanzine, Under The Oak, a copy of which he had sold to Garry (Gaz) Jennings almost a year before at a Candlemass show. Gaz had played/sang/produced the doom-thrash demo Sorrow's Epitaph under the moniker Morbid Doom. The pair had kept loose contact and Dorrian had already been introduced to Jennings via Dan Lilker sometime earlier at a Nuclear Assault/Acid Reign show. Both Griff & Dorrian had been suitably impressed by Gaz's obvious love & dedication of Doom Metal and needless to say, he became target number 1! The bands first rehearsal took place at Rich Bitch Studios in March 1990. The line up being Dorrian -vocals, Griff – rhythm guitar, Gaz – main guitar and initial drummer Andy Baker, who had previously played in Sacrilege, Varukers & Cerebral Fix amongst others. This rehearsal consisted mainly of Gaz & Griff jamming some Vitus tunes and playing around with a few riff ideas to get a vibe. After a couple more rehearsals, it became clear that Andy wasn't too enthusiastic about the slower than slow torturous wah-wah drudgery that was grinding out of the duo's crumbling amps, and was replaced by Coventry drummer Ben Mochrie who had played in several local hardcore bands. After a fruitless search for a bassist, Griff decided to switch from six strings to four. Such was the bands love of the twin guitar harmonies of early Trouble, they decided that the line up wouldn't be complete without the addition of a second guitarist, who came in the shape of Adam Lehan, who joined just prior to the recording of the bands first demo. When Cathedral first came onto the underground scene they were churning out the slowest and most pain filled dirges the world had heard. This in itself was a surprise considering that it's members Gaz Jennings and Adam Lehan had both been a part of the comical thrash outfit Acid Reign and vocalist Lee Dorrian had just departed from grind-core kings Napalm Death. Their first release, In Memorium, was a self produced demo released through Lee's then beginning Rise Above Records label and it gained them underground world attention. Following its release, the band completed several tours with acts as diverse as S.O.B., Saint Vitus, Morbid Angel, Young Gods and Cranes. The following year and one drummer less, they were picked up by Earache UK and released Forest of Equilibrium, which featured ex Dream Death and current Penance drummer, Mike Smail guesting behind the kit. As with their demo, Forest of Equilibrium was well received by the underground metal scene. It also attracted the attention of Columbia Records in the states. In 1992 Cathedral recruited another ex member of Acid Reign, Drummer Mark Wharton, and recorded the Soul Sacrifice EP, which first began to show the direction their music was headed in. That direction displayed a more retro '70s influenced hard rock sound or "stoner doom" if you will. The band went out on the infamous Gods Of Grind tour, alongside labelmates Carcass ,Entombed and Confessor. After this the band returned to Europe to tour ,once more, with Saint Vitus. With Soul Sacrifice being released in the States by Columbia Records, the band embarked upon their first trek across the Atlantic to tour with friends Napalm Death, Carcass & Brutal Truth. The lengthy tour was known as The Campaign For Musical Destruction, and was a resounding success. Unfortunately , the potential strains of major label pressure and touring had taken its toll on founder member Griff, who decided to quit the band following the tour. At this time, the band hired the services of former Cronos guitarist Mike Hickey as a live bassist . The band played at the CMJ in New York alongside Trouble, COC, & The Obsessed, followed by a trip to Israel at the Christmas end of '92. Also just before the end of that year, the band played a series of dates in Germany with Napalm Death, Trouble, Obsessed & Crowbar. This paved the way for the monumental Ethereal Mirror (which originally had the pre-release studio title Decadence, although I have a magazine where it was advertised as Journey into Jade). Without a permanent bass player, it was down to Gaz to play on the album. Response to Ethereal Mirror was generally ecstatic, with occasional references such as 'The next big thing in metal!' The band were not so ecstatic and slightly bemused by what they had recorded. Upon release of the album, the band embarked a European tour with Sleep and Penance. Also appearing on the German shows were Cannibal Corpse and Fear Factory. Following this, Cathedral made their live debut in Japan , alongside friends Brutal Truth, which turned out to be a resounding success. This was to be the final string of dates with Mike Hickey, who later went on to join Carcass. Mike was replaced grindcore legend Scott Carlson who was to become an important member of the band, but unfortunately never got to play on an album. By this time Cathedral began to discover the woes of big recording labels. Columbia wanted the band to tour hard, despite the band questioning the labels choice of tour, the band succumb to their demands and opened up on a long tour with Merciful Fate and Flotsam & Jetsam. This tour led to strains within band personnel and they weren't exactly happy with touring conditions. After several incidents, Cathedral were asked to leave the tour. Apparently Dorrian had announced that he thought King Diamond was a 'pussy' at one of the few shows that Cathedral managed to play where Fate had pulled out of. Word got back to King who had demanded an apology from Dorrian, who flatly refused. The band left the tour in Florida and by this time they were more than happy to do so. Adam Lehan had decided that he was gonna quit the band during the Fate tour, for personal, musical and medical reasons, but fulfilled the obligation of touring the States a couple of months later with Rob Halfords Fight. The tour was a lot more easy going and the band enjoyed it, but the damage had already been done. Lehan played his last show with Cathedral alongside Pentagram, Iron Man and 13 at the Grand in New York on Dec 7th 1993. This was also to be the last show with drummer Mark Wharton. Prior to the Fight tour the band had entered the studio once more with the desire to record something a bit more raw and off the wall than the bigger produced Ethereal Mirror album. Testing Columbia's promise of 'free creativity' ,Cathedral released Statik Majik in 1994 in the UK. This 40 minute EP featured the epic "Voyage of the Homeless Sapien". This track alone took up half the ep's time. It also featured a vast variety of musical instruments and objects, plus Lee's tripped out ad-lib in its closing with a flushing toilet no less! The Columbia label released the EP as Cosmic Requiem in the states. It featured different cover art and one alternate track to the UK equivalent ("A Funeral Request-Rebirth" instead of "Midnight Mountain"). Cathedral also fought tooth and nail when Columbia tried to omit "Voyage of the Homeless Sapien" in favour of "Fountain of Innocence" because "Voyage of..." wasn't the kind of song that could be easily marketed to the metal buying public (Columbia had released a cassette demo with the name Innocence Requiem without the bands knowledge). This is when the honeymoon period with Columbia showed first signs of waning. The band had been offered the support slot on the forthcoming European Black Sabbath tour. Being two members down, this did not deter Lee ,Gaz & Scott's obvious desire to want to play alongside the masters, so they approached Pentagram members Joe Hassalvander(drums) and Victor Griffin(guitar) to see if they fancied filling in. They both agreed and the tour went ahead along with new US band Godspeed. The tour was a lot of fun and the band became quite friendly with Tony and Geezer. Unfortunately things didn't quite work out with Victor, who went home from the tour early after a show in Budapest. Continuing the tour as a four piece was a bit worrying for the band, but on the first night with only one guitarist, Tony Iommi approached the band and said they sounded a hell of a lot better. This was all the reassurance they needed, and is probably the reason that the band is still a four piece to this day! The rest of the tour went well, but the band were unsure of their future with a line up, so were forced to cancel a tour of Ireland which was scheduled not long after. Bassist Scott Carlson was living in Chicago and the band had decided to stay as a four piece. The guys had been friends of Barry Stern from Trouble, who also lived in Chicago. With offers of gigs coming in all the time, the band asked Barry if he would like to help out for a while. This also meant that he and Scott could jam whilst they away from England. Barry played a few UK shows and festivals in Belgium(Viva Rock), France and Sweden(Hultsfred). The band were still looking for a permanent drummer, and had held auditions in England, but just couldn't seem find the right person for the job. Whilst still being signed to Columbia having a cross Atlantic line up didn't seem to be too much of a problem. The record company were anxious to hear new material from the band, and Scott had become pals with a drummer called Dave Hornyak, who also lived in Chicago and wanted to try out for the band. It was decided that Lee and Gaz would relocate to Chicago for a month or so to work on new material and try out Dave. Rehearsals went well and things were starting to look good so the band were happy with a new line up and played a one off show in Chicago before Lee and Gaz returned back to England. Towards the end of the year, Dave & Scott came over to England and the band played a few shows with Electric Wizard and Mourn. Then they went into Rhythm studios to record a five track demo of new songs. Everything was looking good and the band were happy with the new line up, and positive about the future. Then one day just before Christmas, Lee received a phone call from their A & R man in America saying that Columbia no longer wanted to work with the band. The news was hardly a surprise to the band, but it was a big blow ,as it meant that they would have to lose American members Scott and Dave. It was especially hard for Lee & Gaz to think about losing Scott, because they had become very close and been through a lot together. They tried to think of ways to make it work, but ultimately lack of finances made it impossible and Scott was forced to leave. This was a very down period for Lee & Gaz who were now the only two members left, and were forced to seriously question the feasibility of continuing. The next months were just full of new business and political horror stories that the pair were confronted with on a daily basis. The pair were determined not to be defeated by the powers that be, and decided that Cathedral was too important just to give up. So after a seemingly endless period of dark days, the band decided to hold auditions to find permanent UK members for a second time. This time the auditions were more fruitful and Lee and Gaz were very happy to discover the talents of drummer Brian Dixon & bassist Leo Smee, both of whom were welcomed into The Coven. There was no time to hang around, because exactly one week after auditions the band were straight out on tour alongside Deicide and Brutal Truth, where they played a selection of new songs. Shortly after this ,the band played at La Folies festival in France, and performed just prior to Van Halen at the Roskilde festival in Denmark. This now toured and tight doom foursome entered Parkgate Studios in Hastings to record the gargantuan Carnival Bizarre. An album that merged the free rockin' 70s spirit with the doom they lived for. One of the tracks on this release, "Utopian Blaster", even features guitar solo's from Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath. The album bought Cathedral back into the limelight, and was met once more with critical acclaim. The band toured extensively in Europe with Crowbar ,Scandinavia with Motorhead , UK and Australia with Paradise Lost and made a very successful return visit to Japan. Getting deeper into the seventies/experimental vibe , Cathedral released another EP following the albums release. Titled Hopkins (The Witchfinder General), the EP featured one song (the title track) from their previous release. It also had a cover of "Fire", an old '60s tune by The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown. The surprise which people should have come to expect from this innovative band, was the gothic disco influenced "Purple Wonderland" and the funky blues rocker "Devil's Summit" (which featured saxophone and Hammond ,amongst other things). Reviews for this release were mixed. It was also in this time that Cathedral returned to the States for a tour with doom legends Trouble, which was sponsored by High Times and Jagermeister!! Somewhere in the middle of this tour Trouble decided they couldn't go on as a group and they bailed out of the tour after a show in San Antonio, leaving Cathedral stranded in the USA. The band managed to play a couple of headlining shows, borrowing local bands equipment. They failed to complete all of the dates due to lack of funds, and returned home after the New York show at Wetlands. After touring solidly for almost a year, the band rather mistakingly decided to go into the studio without much preparation at all. Exactly one year after the recording of Carnival Bizarre, the band returned to Parkgate studios to record Supernatural Birth Machine with only literally one week of preparation between the end of the tour and studio time. To say that the band were under rehearsed is an understatement!! Dorrian was actually writing a lot of the lyrics literally minutes before they were recorded ,with no rehearsal whatsoever! This LP release sparked criticism in that some felt it below Cathedral's usually well produced standards ,whilst others praised it as one of the bands best. The American version further complicated things when Earache USA completely changed the albums packaging in an attempt to cash in on the so-called "stoner sound" (when will record label suits learn to leave the bands alone?!). The band knew nothing of Earache Record USA's decision to do this and send apologies to anyone ripped off by this "inferior package". Prior to the release of Supernatural…… the band went off to South America, for a tour that was scheduled to take in Peru ,Chile ,Argentina and Venezuela . The Cathedral curse struck them once more ! First stop was Columbia ,where the band were scheduled to stop for three weeks . Shows were apparently amazing and the band enjoyed themselves and the country ,until things started to go wrong. A series of events occurred which posed a danger to the bands well being, ending in Lee and Leo being both held at gunpoint with rifles to their head by Police, who fleeced the of all their possessions and threatened them with imprisonment. After a series of other horror stories, the promoter decided to disappear with all the money that was supposed to take them to the other Countries. The band decided to cut the tour short and return back to England. With a seemingly steady line up and an ever growing fan base, the band continued with a heavy touring schedule which saw them touring Europe with My Dying Bride, return trips to Japan and Australia, Greece amongst others. Following these said tours, the Cathedral machine came to a grinding halt. The band had no choice but to wait for the label suits to decide what they would or wouldn't release next (contracts and shit). For three years almost nothing was heard from this now legendary band. Many feared this was the end. I even heard a rumour that Lee was broke and an alcoholic! But these were all unsubstantiated. The band played at the Dynamo festival in1998, then later that year it was announced that a new Cathedral LP would hit the streets early the following year. Caravan Beyond Redemption was that LP, gathering all the various elements of the previous LP's and EP's and adding a twist all of it's own. This album again took them out on the road, touring Europe with Orange Goblin and Terra Firma. They also returned to Japan(with O. Goblin) ,Australia and Greece, then played various other UK shows. It was then announced that the Cathedral home video Our God Has Landed, originally recorded and released in Japan would be re-released with all the bands prior promotional videos as a bonus. Further more, In Memorium was to re-surface as In Memoriam. Still on the original Rise Above label, the re-released demo was repackaged. Tacked on to the end of the essential EP was a five track live recording from 1991 (which were alternate recordings from the Mexican released bootleg called Echoes of Dirges From the Nave). Not satisfied with a mere re-release of their demo, Cathedral also have re-released the rarities Soul Sacrifice and Statik Majik EP's as a two-on-one CD deal in the UK and USA. One EP has been long out of print in the States and the other available only as an import (and were very welcome by the many fans who missed them the first time). Cathedral returned a couple of years later in 2001 with the release of Endtyme ,which saw the band quite possibly at their heaviest so far! The production was a lot more stripped down, and the band displayed a slightly more return to the roots vibe. Also, in early 2001 cathedral saw their first dvd release. That being the Our God Has Landed video package. Southern Lord records have also brought into exsistance a 7" ep with two rare tracks from the Endtyme sessions. The ep with "Gargoylian" b/w "Earth in the Grip of A Skeletal Hand" comes on standard black wax plus ultra cool yellow or blue wax. Since the recording of Endtyme the band once again hit the road, this time touring Europe and Japan with Rise Above Records artists Hangnail. They also made a one stop visit to the States to play the New Jersey Metalfest. Later in that year the band toured Europe with old friends Entombed. The release of Endtyme also marked the end of the bands long history with Earache records. After ten years of ups and downs the band were free from contract. They since decided to accept a deal offered to them by Dreamcatcher Records. The beginning of 2002 saw the band return to the rehearsal room in Liverpool to commence the writing of their seventh full length release ,Seventh Coming ,which is now in the Stores! Definitely a lot more varied than the out and out nihilism contained within Endtyme's dark grooves ,Seventh Coming takes the band on a more contrasting journey. With a dynamic production ,once again courtesy of Kit Woolven , and sleeve art created by the bands un official extra member Dave Patchett, the band are once more ready to hit the road. Where will the cosmic horsemen of doom go from here?! We can only watch and wait. Doom on! In July 2003 the band signed a new record deal with Nuclear Blast.
  25. Ohh Nooooo !!!!!!! that annoying punk is back, so he says then dissapers for like a lifetime todays band is-- WarFare,, good album is ' Pure Filth " The British heavy metal band Warfare was formed in the early 80's. Their debut album "Pure Filth" was released in 1984 and produced by Tank's Algy Ward who also guested on the album together with Venom members. Their 1986 album "Metal Anarchy" was produced by Motörhead's own Lemmy and also features guitar contributions from Wurzel of Motörhead. Their next album "Mayhem Fucking Mayhem" was procuded by Venom vocalist Cronos and sold over 40000 copies. Next came "A Conflict Of Hatred" with guest appearances from Mantas of Venom, Lindisfarne's Marti Craggs and former Prelude vocalist Irene Hume. In 1989 the band left their hometowm label Neat Records and instead signed with Hammer Film Music and released the album "Hammer Horror". Because of lack of promotion the band re-recorded this album with Algy Ward on guitars in several tracks and released the new version on Silver Screen Records. The second version also featured a classical piece co-written with former Tygers Of Pan Tang guitarist Fred Purser which was later used as part of the soundtrack to the movie "Vlad The Impaler". The band now started to dissolve and in mid 1993 the band leader Evo was involved with the project band Warhead together with Motörhead guitarist Wurzel and Tank bassist Algy Ward. thats what the wizard has today, nothing great- but better then nothing
