Ahh just heard that Smashing Pumpkins will be selling every show on a flash drive for this tour.. That is shhhweeett!!
It seems like a trend which is picking up rapidly. Saw a few other artists do the same last winter, and I know Alter Bridge would b doing the same for their upcoming European Tour. -

Smashing Pumpkins announced a 12 city US tour in August, 2011. The tour kick-starts on Oct 5, 2011 in Los Angeles, & ends on Oct 22nd in Philadelphia.

They recently won an award for Best Use of Emerging Technologies, 2010. and is a multi talented band.

Found this through a colleague. I'm always kind of interested in business models of different artists, and how everyone seems to kind of agree that MUSIC IS FREE, and artists need to make money, not through music, but through touring and selling creative merchandise.
