  1. Thanks everyone, except dude. Yes the birthday email was nice, but I thought I had 10 people who remembered me or were being nice, but instead it is only Dude raising his post count. +5 for the love, -5 for the spam, +1 for the love in the spam. Alright you are ahead on the day, thanks :)

Anyway disgruntled says the least of it I suppose. I am just not an internet person. I suppose I know a lot about it, I love to help people, but I hate dealing with most people, so it is a no win situation for me. I just bum around slickdeals once in a while and comment on hardware so that people don't waste money. Outside of that the most I ever say online is an occasional comment in a binary newsgroup or private bt site.

But yeah.. What I have been up to. College is, as usual, a killer. Going to a very hard college is especially a killer. The real killer though. Going to a very hard college that has 10 week quarter systems. The same amount of work as there is in a 15 week semester, 5 less weeks to do it, and a college trying to push up to elite status so the work just keeps getting harder and harder and my time less and less. More classes, less time, more work. Lovely combo. I go year around too, so it really starting to wear me out.

Anyway no more boring you guys. I am going to go rest. Long night with friends, just got back and even with alcohol in my system I am going to try and finish my C++ homework for the night. Which will be me with a laptop on the couch, falling asleep ten minutes after I start.

So yeah. Thanks guys, once again. Thanks rainbow for the 6:54 save, Dude for the timely birthday email, Potato for always saying she remembers me, everytime I am mentioned (swear to god I have seen in 6 times at least dating back to zeropaid. Someday she will forget me), Hunter old friend thanks for the kind words, and the rest of you, thanks a lot.

Still none of you beat the stupid ecard my mother sent me where she proclaimed I am the greatest thing that ever happened to her and it had a cat scratching stuff on the card. Hallmark moment trounces two dude posts. Now if Dude were to claim that I was the greatest thing that ever happened to him, that might put him ahead. Just saying...

Anyway take it easy guys, thanks again, see you around. My apologies for how poorly typed it is. Blurring up..

  2. mmmmmmmmmm, yeah.  Kylie...doesn't suck.  But she does kiss girls, and has quite a set of lungs as well, lol.  And her tunes remix well.

And this is stretching the bounds of pure pop and going off into the realm of euro dance, but there's a large gray area where the two merge, so in that space I cast a hearty vote for Alice Deejay, and devil-may-care what anyone thinks of that.  I think she's hot.

    Remember Locomotion? :)

    do you mean

    JOHN MAYAL

Kylie scored a number one hit during the 80s with The Locomotion. That is what I meant.

  3. I love Shinedown. They are a very low rated group though. Personally I think they are pretty good though with what they have, which is pretty much a grunge sounding singer who can layer his voice really well.

I love .45 and Fly From The Inside by them. Probably their best two. Fly From The Inside was heard all over for a while on the radio, then .45 came out and they tried to release a video, but MTV banned it because they wouldn't remove the lyric "Staring down the barrel of a .45".

  5. Happy July 4th Weekend to you to.

My plans.. Hmm.. I was asked to go to a camp and get drunk for the weekend, I am seriously contemplating this one. A lot of my friends from back home are there.

My friends from school though want me to go to Syracuse and stay the weekend there with them. There will probably be at least 20 kids from college that I know, so it might be fun. I really don't feel like a 5 hour drive each way though.

Maybe I'll just stick around and go to fireworks with whoever is around. I haven't seen them in a couple of years. I almost miss them.

  6. I voted Animal. Maybe I should go back to bed.

I would have thought you would have gone for Grohl :)

I actually voted Grohl. He gets my respect because he has drummed for Nirvana which was the breakout group of the 90s, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers which was worthy of it's own thread here, Queens of the Stoneage which is made up of guys who end up on every best of list there is, Scream, and of course he heads the Foo Fighters (although he doesn't drum much for them).

Pretty nice stuff for only being 35.

  7. that's the trouble with polls.... it's difficult to choose just one...

and you were absolutely right of course... Zappa should have been on the other list...  :)

    As should have Josh Homme

Kyuss!!! :) He hasn't sounded too bad with Queens of The Stone Age either. I love the way that guy plays. Didn't he play through a bass amp with Kyuss to get maximum distortion?

  8. I think those were good choices actually. If I picked though, I would go with Tom Morello slightly over Jack White. I mean no one has been able to imitate Morello's solos and I have a couple of copies of him doing Seven Nation Army live and he copied Jack White perfectly, but then broke out and did some insane Rage like solos.

  9. why isn`t frank zappa on there????

      :reallymad:

I would certainly rank him above Joe Perry Angus Young and Alex Lifeson--I dont even know who they are..

Perry is in Aerosmith, Young is in AC/DC, and Lifeson is in Rush

  10. I like them, but I am really glad that they didn't get Dave Grohl. After Cobain died, Petty begged Grohl to join the Heartbreakers. Grohl toured with them for a bit, then declined the offer. He then went on to the Foo Figheters, which I think was a better choice.

  11. A lot of people think grunge is dead for the most part these days, but I for one am still a fan and I feel that there are still some good groups out there to listen to. So here is my suggestion for a thread. How about everyone posts one good grunge group that has come around recently. I'll start.

Cinder is the group I pick. Scott Weiland from STP and Velvet Revolver found these guys and they don't fall too far short of STP. Their lead man has a voice that sounds like Weiland when he tries to sound deep. They feature a two guitar attack and a lot of musical range.

    Songs I would recommend:

Soul Creation - Sounds like Alice in Chains. Very hard song.

She Said - Soft, featuring the lead singer on an acoustic guitar. It sounds like an A-Side STP song that somehow got left off their album.
