  1. Hi. Does anyone know any good music industry books? Specifically, I'm looking for books that deal with the following:

    1. The solo musician (NO bands)

    2. Deals with computer music

    3. Covers aspects of getting music into TV, movies, or video games

    4. Good networking tips

    5. Covers the dark side of the music industry; pitfalls to watch out for

The book doesn't have to cover all 5, but at least one of the topics. If you know a title, could you let me know what numbers it covers? Thanks.

  2. Hi. I have a question about the Animusic videos. They combine music with animations. Their website is www.animusic.com, but you can see some of their videos on Google video or YouTube.

They use a proprietary program called Midimotion to do the animations. They talk about that here: http://www.animusic.com/company-software.html

Midimotion is not available commercially, so does anyone know of any products on the market that does the same thing? Basically, I'm looking for something that controls my animations based on the speed/beat/sound of the music. Thanks.

  3. off the top of my head, there should be some some info on the latter in the dj's and musicians forum. if you type in 'chord progressions' and 'artists name' in google or ask, you should pull up roughly what you want. for instance, i know there is something along those lines for tom petty when i get a moment, i will see what i can find in the afternoon

here is a link to that forum

    Thanks.

  4. Hi. I'm looking for 2 things regarding music. If you know only one, that'll help too.

    1. Are there any websites that have midi files of popular songs and artists for download?

    2. Are there any websites or books that displays just the key and chord progressions of popular songs and artists (such as I-V-vi-IV.....)? I'm not looking for sheet music or musical scores (no measures, bars, staffs). I'm looking for just chord progressions.

    Thanks.
