The legendary Starscape Festival returns for its 10th year, to bring you a day and night of music and entertainment under the stars, culminating in the sunrise over the Chesapeake Bay. This year's event has five areas of music: The Main Stage features live bands, a crushing sound system, and top-notch visual production. The Buzz Area will be under a 10,000 sq ft tent, focuses on electronic dance music and features an audiovisual assault on the senses. The Steez Promo Drum n Bass area takes place under a 6,000 sq ft tent, and features the worlds best drum n bass talent and a bass heavy sound system sure to make your insides shake. There will be two beach stages this year; one stage will focus on live music and feature national, regional, and local jamtronica and reggae bands, the other stage will be hosted by Sonic Soul, Essential Breaks, and The Remix Renegades and will feature a wide array of dance music from a number of regional and local artists. The festival will also feature a 40 ft live graffiti wall, a full art gallery featuring local and regional artists, and vendors from around the mid-Atlantic region.

Damian Lazarus
Damian Lazarus delivers a fresh and unique sound best described as dirty & deep, electro house - a rebel sound designed for lovers of late night madness, future dance floor classics and cutting edge new ideas. With dj sets designed for good time party heads - his style combines the most upfront twisted music with a touch of attitude.
As former Head of A&R for UK based label, City Rockers, Lazarus divided his time between signing and developing the next wave of future bands/artists and spinning the most vibrant new tunes to like minded clubbers.
He is responsible for signing and releasing classics like Felix's Silver Screen, Tiga's Sunglasses and Coloursound's Fly With Me.
At the end of 2002, City Rockers was voted "Label of the Year" by various music magazine and the genre defining compilations, Futurism 1 and 2 (both compiled and mixed by Damian) were included in many music publication's 'Albums of the Year' lists. Damian received a djing major break in 2002 when he was invited to spin at Barcelona's Sonar Festival and by 2003, He had four perfect residencies at four of the best club spaces in the world - Circo Loco at DC10 (Ibiza), Polar TV (Berlin), The Loft (Barcelona) and 21st Century Bodyrockers (London).
With his style and sound developing in 2004, Damian launched his new label, Crosstown Rebels. Rebels is firmly dedicated to the support and development of the best cutting edge, international underground Electronic dance music. Rebel artists include Kiki & Silversurfer, Phonique, Hiem, Adam Sky, Frankie Flowerz and The Glimmer Twins amongst many other next level producers and artists.
Damian has just released his first ever dj mix album - REBEL FUTURISM SESSION ONE - to great critical acclaim. Always a lover of 'proper' music - and not a fan of mainstream music machines - Damian Lazarus is a believer in giving people something exciting, special and different.
Audiofly
Audiofly are a DJ/producer duo, Luca Saporito and Anthony Middleton. They met and started working together in the spring of 2002 and embarked on a prolific partnership based on their shared musical styles and experiences on the global DJ circuit. Their combined talents have created a powerful, somewhat experimental and original style of music, (some have called it a ‘deadly Techno meets Electronic House’) very current on the underground club scene right now.
THE PRODUCERS
Their first remix production Live Love first released in February 2004, on Fantastic House, was on the playlist of such DJ’s as Smokin Jo, Steve Lawler, DJ Ralf, Victor Calderone & Danny Tenaglia to name a few...the track has also been featured on several compilations including Lights Out 2, & Amnesia Ibiza amongst others...
The rest of 2004 saw several more releases which slowly built and developed both the reputation and also production values of Audiofly.
Early 2005 saw multiple Audiofly releases, signed to some of the hottest labels around...
Release Yourself came out on the legendary Low Pressings (Single of the Week in 7 Update Magazine and featured on the Kiss 100 playlist).
Do You Hear? (on Nic Fanciulli’s ‘Deleted Records label with a remix by Zoo Brazil)
Mind Twista/I Can’t Remember on Fantastic House featured for 3 consecutive weeks on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection.
Then, Rockin It on Jackit Records featured a remix by Serge Santiago
Circles featuring talented Jazz vocalist Priscilla … out on Adrift, has become another underground monster …released just in time for Miami WMC 2006 , the track has become a timeless anthem, championed by the likes of Sasha, Sister Bliss and Nick Fanciulli.
Audiofly started a new project entitled Audiofly X this year, which covers the deeper and minimal values of house music which has been gathering a lot of momentum on the more UNDERGROUND scene recently.
Their first EP called Stolen Goods was signed to SAW Recordings and features on Satoshi Tomie’s 3D comp.
The next release, Lost on Moodmusic was just released and immediately went into the top 10 sellers on Beatport for a couple of weeks.
The current Audiofly X track 4Play (on German tech house label Get Physical’s 60th release)has also been met with some serious support with the first pressing selling out in an hour.
THE REMIXERS
In terms of remixes, Audiofly are becoming very sought after producers, and last year saw them remixing several underground anthems.
Here’s a selection of Audiofly remixes;
Different Gear’s summer single Worry on Lazy Eye records (Feaured on Pete Tongs Essential selection, and a DC10 Anthem last summer)
Paul Harris’(Dirty Vegas) single Guitar 1 on Saved records
Deep Dish’s Sacramento.
This year’s remixes include;
Gus Gus - Need In Me released on Revox in July.
The new Yoshimoto single, Want You to Hear me which is due in November.
Kenzo- Working it Out, which has been floating around on mp3 for almost a year now and is still being played by many top DJs as a secret weapon….not for much longer as it’s due out before the end of 2006.
Lastly, look out for the Audiofly remix of Claude Von Stroke - The Whistler also due out this December, and a remix of DJ Remo’s Mizar, out on Steve Lawler’s label VIVA (plays by Satoshi, Deep Dish, Tiga, Sasha and Digweed.
THE DJs
Alongside their production schedule Audiofly are regular fixtures on the DJ circuit. During last summer, they were residents for Steve Lawlers night VIVA at Space, Ibiza. This summer has seen them play Pacha, Space, Amnesia and Eden on the white island. They also hold residencies @ Prinzip in Munich and Fever @ Viareggio , Italy where they feature on a regular basis.
Currently, they are gigging all over the world. Chile, Mexico, Romania, Brazil, USA and Canada, Russia, Ukraine, China and so on, as well as all over Europe playing in some of the best clubs around.
On home turf , they play monthly at Players (AKA/The END), and are regular guests at Mulletover, London’s only ‘real’ secret warehouse bash….
THE MIX CD - UNDULATIONS 2
Undualtions 2, the follow-up to the highly successful compilation on Satoshi Tomie and Hector Romero’s SAW Recordings was released in November. This compilation is the first time Audiofly get to let loose on a mix album. It is a solid blend of their own tracks, remixes and other material that Audiofly is currently spinning in their sets.
It’s a high energy affair, with slick beats and beautiful melodies…. A journey through a night in 70 minutes……

Oh, I can't wait. This is gonna be the best party of the summer.
-
I'm not a huge fan of trance but PVD rocks.
-
I am excited to see Diggers tomorrow cuz I missed him in Miami.
-
This party is soon, I can't wait.
-
How is this club? Cool poster, huh?
The 9:30 Club is a great venue. Strong Drinks! Ha, I remember the Black Cat. I went to a DJ battle there years ago.
-
Dieselboy rocks it. The Buzzlife Mardi Gras parties are always awesome.
-
Digweed is so awesome. I can't wait for this show. He never comes to DC.
-
Hey there. I play funky progressive house in the DC area. Here is a link to my newest Mix CD Drum Funktion.
-
Ha Ha, that is cool they are taking requests. I've actually been to the Rock and Roll Hotel for a concert. It is a cool venue.
-
The second to last Buzz party should be off the hook. I love Aphrodite. Bad Boy Bill is awesome too. The vibe of the last few parties has been insane. Everybody has beencoming out to show their respect.
-
Yeah, we have been very lucky for a long time. It really is a shame that the club is closing. At least they are going out with a bang.
-
I love Drum and Bass in the main room at Nations. Those speakers thump. I can't wait to see Ak 1200 again. He tore it up at Ultra in Maimi.
