Bob Dylan

After listening to A LOT of rock music, I think I matured enough to say that Bob Dylan is the greatest music writer of them all. Yes, he is! I consider his best track ' Things Have Changed '.

What's yours?

Here is a great biography site for you all.

Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. The entire album!

Definitely!

It is un-Dylanlike, but it is my favourite!

I do not agree Method, but I am convinced that he will be remembered as a poet!

possitively 4th street! MARVALOUS.

and bringing up the kids I always used TURN TURN TURN.

Later on, as the went older, I sang to myself THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGING.

helps me to think young

I'll go with Highway 61 Revisited

Oh God said to Abraham, "Kill me a son"

Abe says, "Man, you must be puttin' me on"

God say, "No." Abe say, "What?"

God say, "You can do what you want Abe, but

The next time you see me comin' you better run"

Well Abe says, "Where do you want this killin' done?"

God says, "Out on Highway 61."

Well Georgia Sam he had a bloody nose

Welfare Department they wouldn't give him no clothes

He asked poor Howard where can I go

Howard said there's only one place I know

Sam said tell me quick man I got to run

Ol' Howard just pointed with his gun

And said that way down on Highway 61.

Well Mack the Finger said to Louie the King

I got forty red white and blue shoe strings

And a thousand telephones that don't ring

Do you know where I can get rid of these things

And Louie the King said let me think for a minute son

And he said yes I think it can be easily done

Just take everything down to Highway 61.

Now the fifth daughter on the twelfth night

Told the first father that things weren't right

My complexion she said is much too white

He said come here and step into the light he says hmm you're right

Let me tell the second mother this has been done

But the second mother was with the seventh son

And they were both out on Highway 61.

Now the rovin' gambler he was very bored

He was tryin' to create a next world war

He found a promoter who nearly fell off the floor

He said I never engaged in this kind of thing before

But yes I think it can be very easily done

We'll just put some bleachers out in the sun

And have it on Highway 61.

I just got a book called "Singles of the Century", writen by a great greek radio producer and music know-it-all and has all the top selling singles of the 20th century and a description on them. The number of tracks writen by Bob Dylan is unbelievable. 80% of those tracks are not performed by him.

The guy who wrote the book is called Giannis Petridis and has the biggest record collection in Europe

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
