Now, you've mentioned just the songs, me and my husband do NOT want to hear, ever!!

My birthday is december 23 and his december 25. We never have a real birthday and also never had a real Xmas!

When it's mine I am standing in line in a shop, waiting for my turn to the counter as everybody else is, so I do never get visitors, and when it's his, some people do drop by but they do not want anything, not even a piece of cake, and they are in a hurry to get to the dinertable or they have just left the dinertable......

So these songs you have listed: NO :nope:

Always glad when it's the 2nd of january!

lol I know exactly what you mean. Greek Orthodox celebrate St Yorgos day (my name) which is april 23 right after Easter Sunday which is the biggest day for the Greek religion along with Christmas. My birthday is april 24 so I get my 2 celebrations right in the heart of easter and noone cares to visit.

I always work anyway and it's the bussiest time of the year too :(

not to mention my personal favourite.....

Christmas Song..by jethro tull

Once in Royal David's City stood a lonely cattle shed,

where a mother held her baby.

You'd do well to remember the things He later said.

When you're stuffing yourselves at the Christmas parties,

you'll just laugh when I tell you to take a running jump.

You're missing the point I'm sure does not need making

that Christmas spirit is not what you drink.

So how can you laugh when your own mother's hungry,

and how can you smile when the reasons for smiling are wrong?

And if I just messed up your thoughtless pleasures,

remember, if you wish, this is just a Christmas song.

(Hey! Santa! Pass us that bottle, will you?) .........

John Lennon's "Happy Christmas (War Is Over)". I was in high school when this song came out. Liked it at first. But we had a neighbor who sold Christmas trees. He got the bright idea of putting speakers outside and playing this song during business hours.Over and over. 9.00 am - 10.00 pm. Like, I said we lived right next door. I still cringe whenever I hear that song!!

Nice little triva facts there Method. I never knew that most of these X-mas songs were so young for the most part, or who had wrote them. Really cool stuff but I can understand not wanting your b-day on holidays. My favorite X-mas song is O' Holy Night. Maybe I should encourage Gy to write a X-mas song and then who knows it might make ASCAP's list.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
