COCOON in the Concrete Jungle

Something big is about to break through the sprawling (concrete) jungle of nightlife in NYC. Sven Vath's legendary Cocoon label is bringing their signature soiree to Sankeys NYC on December 13th.

Popof, a French DJ/composer/arranger hailing from the rave party scene, will be headlining the evening with an energetic set of his blended minimal & techno. His cutting edge tracks are made within the best traditions of techno mixed with a sip of tech-house. Popof has now become a superstar at the level that each release gets at least into the Top 5 download lists, if not the first place. One of his latest releases being “HANGOVER” which is featured on the Cocoon 100 CD.

DJ W!ld, a fixed part of the Cocoon family and Circo Loco resident, will be on the scene with the dark sexy acid house that has made him break out in recent years.

Markus Fix will also be burning up the decks with his impeccable techno pedigree. Sven Väth just featured Markus’ track “Wanna let you go” on his mix CD “The Sound of the 14th Season” which was charted #4 in Groove Magazine.

The Cocoon night will be supported by Taimur & Fahad of NYC's own Blkmarket parties, which recently had an installment at Sankeys Ibiza. Furthermore, the Italian Simon Wish is on board to open this special night in the Cocoon Jungle.

Let your imagination merge with our roots and we will jointly harvest the fruits of our shared passion!

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
