Wars Of The Future

It's there in the Bible
There will be wars
And rumors of wars
Without rumors of peace
What about future wars?
With whom shall we quarrel?
And where on this planet?
If we're the world's police

Wars Of The Future
With whom shall we fight?
Two hundred countries
To show American might
Wars Of The Future
Making the world safe
Liberating everyone
All over the place

Now all you dictators
Put up your dukes
You better step down
We'll break out the nukes
Fascists and Communists
Take off your gloves
This is regime change
This ain't peace and love

Wars Of The Future
With whom shall we fight?
Two hundred countries
To show American might
Wars Of The Future
Making the world safe
Liberating everyone
All over the place

Rap #1:
We won the Revolution
War of 1812
The Mexican War
Ain't war hell!
The Indian Wars
War Between the States
Spanish-American War
Ain't war great!
Next were the World Wars
Korea and Nam
Then the Cold War
Just stay calm!
Then came Iraq
And Afghanistan
The War on Terror
Boogeyman!

Wars Of The Future
With whom shall we fight?
Two hundred countries
To show American might
Wars Of The Future
Making the world safe
Liberating everyone
All over the place

Rap #2:
We ain't fought Ecuador
Or Monaco yet
We haven't bombed Uruguay
Or even Tibet!
What about Liechtenstein?
They'll get their turn
How about Iceland?
Make them burn!
Republic of the Congo
No longer Zaire
In love and war
All is fair!
What about Tonga
It's time to invade
Let's get the Vatican
Make a raid!

Chorus

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
