Elton John - Peachtree Road

Lately Elton John has been in a bitchy mood. He ragged on Madonna for lip-synching and had a few choice words for some of the teen divas who do the same. You can be darned sure there won’t be any vocal chicanery in any of Elton’s concerts when he plays selections from his new album, “Peachtree Road.” This release has been compared to much of his earlier work, and if you still play “Your Song” in romantic moments, or “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” while you’re working out, that’s good news indeed. The hot cuts here include “Too Many Tears,” “Weight of the World” and “Freaks in Love.” I hear Madonna and Ashlee Simpson really love Elton, they just haven’t gotten their mouths around the words yet. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
